Media persecution of Raheem Sterling

The press haven't been directly racist but many of the criticisms have racial elements that invoke racist stereotypes. That's why his picture is used in news stories about drug dealers. It's why we have constant references to his bling lifestyle and extravagant spending. Except when he's shown not to be that and shops in Poundland which I think is a class thing as well. The weird comparison between his and Kane's girlfriends and kids relationship is based entirely on harmful racial stereotypes of absent father's and sexual mores. The gun tattoo causes outrage becuase gun violence and gangs are seen as black problems.

I think, although I'm possibly not smart enough to articulate it well, that there is such a thing as the wrong kind of black and I think that is behind the comments about people not liking his personality.

It amazes me that the BBC put down his low score to him being people being blind to his performances and workrate he has. Ignore the fact that he is on par with Alli and Lingard this WC, and completely ignore the fact that he has been bullied since he left Liverpool and that;s when it started. A little in depth reporting by the bbc or sky would go a long way to shutting this down

It's a good job Big Jesse does not get scored on the number of times he fails to spot to Raz when he makes brilliant runs

Don't think it is because he his black, think it's because journalists are massive ****s and he happens to be black. Rich, Young, Talented, Glamorous. The media loves a villain and it happens to be his turn. He's not a wallflower so will have the column inches week in week out and that sells papers/clicks.

And the racist attack upon him? Was that inspired by the press or did he just have a gripe and would have done it anyway even if there was no negative press? See I think the dick who attacked Sterling reads the sun, the Mail, that sort of shite, got incesnsed, went and attacked Sterling after reading endless negative inflamatory stories about him.

That's the racist angle/person the hate press make money off, they love getting angry

Perhaps you should ask yourself would a massive bell end racist target a successful young rich black talented man without the media interest.
