Got to admit I was surprised most of the media ran with a headline about Sterling. Not KDB, Not Zinchenko, not Muric. Have they learnt nothing this week?

It’s not about the missed pen though. It’s about the cockiness to take a pen like that, which failed, and the keepers reaction to that failure. I dare say had the keeper not reacted like that, the photo wouldn’t be there at all. It isn’t to do with sterling. It’s to do with the keepers reaction to the penalty.
So it’s about the cockiness of the pen taker not the cockiness of the keeper lol.
I’m surprised it’s considered cocky when the aim is to mislead the keeper, if he’d have gone left it would have been saved.
It’s not important but strange when it becomes a non story, crucial if we went out.

Lots of players try and dink the ball into the goal from the spot, in fact Aguero did it last season
What doesn't usually happen ,is for the keeper to take it personally and goof off at the taker

First article I just looked at was the telegraph. Has sterling and the keeper as the main photo, the. Further down the celebrations. A quick google of similar incidents and low and behold there’s one of Ronaldo missinga penalty in the World Cup but Portugal still going through. Picture of him with his head in his hands and then the celebrations too.So it’s about the cockiness of the pen taker not the cockiness of the keeper lol.

No issue with the pic being used, it's how it's used.

It’s indeed NOT about the missed penalty. It’s about the headline-picture for an article that issues a cup run via a penalty shoot out. Anyone with more than one brain cell will agree that this picture shows all what has been going on in the press this and last week. If you have the choice out of about a hundred pictures you don’t go for this one. If you can’t see that and change the subject to the way Sterling took his penalty ( and in whether you can agree or disagree) one tend to believe you miss that one brain cell.

It’s the bbc football site so videos rather than pics, but they’re shown as stills of the money shots, so to speak.No issue with the pic being used, it's how it's used.
