You could have at least put the whole of the transcript on to give it a more balanced view and one that suggests Lawro thinks we can win.The part about Liverpool "getting" at us wasn`t incorrect either as we were dog shit for that first 20 minutes.
Watford's excellent start to the season continued last week with their win at Southampton.

The Hornets will feel that, if they can get at Manchester City, they can cause them problems too, because City's defence is still not the same when Vincent Kompany is not fit. We saw that last weekend when Liverpool had 11 men.

I still think City will be confident that their attack is good enough to get them the three points here again, though. Again, we saw how good they are against Liverpool.

Whoever Pep Guardiola picks, it does not look like scoring goals is going to be an issue for them this season and I don't see it being a problem on Saturday.

Must have watched a different game to me then.

No I just don`t watch City games with Blue tinted specs.
There was only one team in that game before we scored and it wasn`t a team wearing sky blue tops.

Salah had the run of the otter but bar that teams were pretty much equal, never felt they were a threat to us

People still don't get it - if you want exposure in the media you have to play their game, like it or not. Sign up for a free BBC account and comment, good or bad, in praise of the team or just defending them against other clubs idiots, and raise the clickbait bar for Man City - or don't moan when they feature other clubs higher on their websites or MOTD. Deigning to pander to them is righteous but doesn't help us in the media stakes.

Neither do I, and having watched it back when completely sober, I can only re-iterate, you must have been watching a different game.

Mark Hughes spills the beans on what we already know about United's PR Department and the strangle hold they have on the English Sports Media.

I'll leave the link for once.

But allegations from United’s camp subsequently emerged that Hughes had told Mourinho to ‘f*** off’ when ushering the Portuguese out of the home dugout during a break in play.

Reflecting on the episode, Hughes said with a smile: ‘Handshakes are neither here nor there. We should move on. Maybe after the game the media department at Man United switched on to full mode and got involved and didn’t do Jose any favours, to be perfectly honest.’

Asked to expand, Hughes added: ‘I don’t need to comment on it much more. Too much was highlighted after the game by their media department with a view to maybe cementing Jose’s position. But I think they did him a disservice really.’

Your average football fan will believe whatever they get told if its what they want to hear; they arnt going to check if its true or not.

Sky especially try shape events how they want (See the Ederson incident) and with a huge market share they get to tell everyone how things "really" are with non-stop commentary to back them up; suddenly a scrappy rag win was a dominant victory playing fantastic football while we looked nervy beating someone 2-0 etc... Most people didnt see the game so that is just a fact to them now (see MOTD making games seem even when we have hammered sides).

Over time media reshape real events and misinformed fans spread this as fact until proven otherwise.

You can cherry pick anything to create a narrative if you look hard enough and are hypocritical enough to only apply it to certain clubs or players.
Agreed
