Jonathan Wilson is a Sunderland fan and normally one of the better journalists. But I met him at an event a couple of years ago and we got talking about Pellegrini.

He'd been giving MP a load of shit because he gave nothing away to journalists. My response was on the lines of maybe he does that because he knows anything substantive that he does say will be twisted. I put it to Wilson that why should he show you any respect when he gets none back. Wilson responded that he got no respect because he showed none to journalists. It got a bit heated in the end but there was an element of entitlement from him that managers should be open with him and his colleagues and that MP's attitude was disrespectful.

There is a lot of animosity towards City because we don't give the papers any exclusives, they are all done through the inhouse media team.

Also I don't believe journalists "pick on us" because of any personal vendetta (maybe 2-3 do), but the majority stick the boot in because its topical and plays to their demographic of Scum, Chavs, Gooners and Scouses who all hate us - the late brian woolnough told me this after I accused him of being a bias twat.

Newspaper wants to appeal to fans of 'big' clubs so that they read their articles -> Writes sensationalist shit about non-'big' club they all hate (ie clickbait) -> Fans of these clubs therefore read it -> These fans believe it (Why wouldn't they?) -> Eventually word spreads -> Everyone believes it -> Sensationalist shit becomes stereotype -> People believe it as a fact -> People start to hate non-'big' club that little bit more -> Eventually proven to be false - Too late people won't change their minds -> Sensationlist shit no longer news -> People stop reading about it in papers -> Fans of the 'big' clubs stop reading about it -> Newspaper wants to appeal to fans of 'big' clubs so that they read their articles...

You know:
City set for transfer ban after CAS hearing. Everyone believes it. Evil City again ruining S. American football. Obviously guilty. Except we've spent the last year being repeatedly proven innocent (irrelevant). Few days pass. Not banned from football yet. No longer interesting news story.

But what's this? 100m for Walker! Just as the CAS story went cold. Amazing..

For as long as we are a rival to united and Liverpool, we will always be portrayed negatively by the media. These two clubs have so many more Uk based fans than us that they will print anything to keep their main income sources happy. Until that changes then it will remain the case. There is no point worrying about it or getting angry about it as it won't change.

Shall I refer to some of the most publicised "results" that the police have achieved. Clearly your knowledge of how our Police operate is as deep as your knowledge of the media.

Its lucky we have such an expert on the board to guide us and not one of those type of people who use a small percentage of cases to judge a whole profession. Anyway its pointless discussing as I doubt we will find a middle ground.

Perhaps I misunderstand but is the tweet ambiguous ?
Does the last sentence mean City fans are paranoid or that he finds after working there that they are justified in complaining ?
