Did Liverpool not get a 7 day break between 19th and 27th?

Wasn't there some stat about having the largest average number of days rest between games (all competitions) over Christmas for Liverpool and City the shortest?

Klopp's gone full Trump on us and the whole sports media have become his OAN.
And they had a 9 day break between 8th when they faced Villa's schoolboys and 17th when they faced the rags. add to that the break that you mentioned and that's over two weeks in total, so who had the two week break bingo you lying **** ?

Bein sports Andy gray using the Christmas 8 day break narrative as a positive for city without any mention of number players out with covid. It’s therefore worked

Even though it was 7 days and LFC had a longer break between I think Palace and Villa.

Of all the cringeworthy lines James Pearce has had to put out over his career in order to satisfy his Liverpool propaganda quota, this might be one of the worst.

That's right, Jurgen Klopp went on a rant about how Lierpool aren't top because unlike City, they didn't have the luxury of a...2 day break.

This is the "corrected" quote.

"We need to play football, train and recover and use each minute to train. We haven't had a break, City had 2 days for covid reasons. It's a tough year. Some teams it looks less, but for us, it's tough."
It's even more stupid than the original.

James Pearce isn't capable of having a thought of his own.

It definitely got more vicious later on, when it was clear we were a threat. I think the human rights stuff started around 2016/17, around the time Pep came.

True, but it was pretty vicious from day 1.

Do you remember a headline in the mail early in 2009?

“18th in the league, humiliated in the cup, and they still think they can buy Kaka?”

Honestly, this is the reason I'm not renewing my Athletic subscription. It was sold as a new dawn for football journalism, unbaised, intelligent discussion above the usual fanzine crap you get from the tabloids. That's what the coverage of baseball is like on there, it's generally excellent. But then instead for the football version they hired people like James Pearce, a fully paid up member of Liverpools PR department.

Such a shame as there was a real market for better football coverage, instead we got the same shite but with added arrogance

From past evidence our PR team are highly unlikely to issue such a statement PB.

From your knowledge of the club why do you think we are so passive in letting lies like this go publicly unchallenged ? Surely they can see the damage that is done to the club from such events together with the constant drip of shit from the rag/dipper loving media whores.

It would be one thing if the positive things which the club have achieved were to pass under the radar with little or no comment, but to allow lies and incorrect information go unchallenged is just so wrong for everybody associated with the club.
I understand the overall PR strategy, as frustrating as it can appear sometimes, which is to keep a low profile and not get dragged into slanging matches. It's been pointed out that if you rush out statements to deny or counter something, then fail to do that for something else, the media will take that as a passive admission of guilt ("City refuse to deny..."). I also suspect that our owner is sensitive to potential criticism of the UAE's pretty compliant media, if we started throwing our weight around.

But something like this, which is blatantly false and where Klopp is simply being provocative, should get a factual response. It doesn't have to be aggressive, just to point out that we've actually played 2 games more than them, that they had 8 days gap between the game on the 19th and their 'Boxing Day' game on the 27th, plus another 9 days between their FA Cup game (when they faced an U-18 Villa team) and their game against United. Then the media can't ignore it and it turns the focus back on Klopp, making him look like the dishonest, whining cretin he is.

Getting lots of flack on the comments. And from the Svousers. Obviously there will aleays be brainwashed, cult, Scousers.

Pearce.

Klopp doesn’t do mind games. It was a slip of the tongue rather than a deliberate attempt to rile Guardiola. But the reaction was another reminder of the simmering tensions when Liverpool and Man City meet.
