Spot on. That really is patronising, I couldn't believe what I was reading. Very, very disrespectful - not only to Foden but to others in the team. I think if you asked the 'adults' in our team, they will say that Foden is having a huge influence on how we play and the intensity at which we play at. The 'adults' love him...that's clear just by the celebration for his goal on Sunday. The second paragraph is so incredibly patronising:
At the moment Foden, as was the case against Liverpool, puts the finishing touches to fine team performances, leaving the grown-ups such as Gundogan and Sterling and De Bruyne - when fit - to break the bow of the opposition. He's young and has time but he's not ready to take over from the adults just yet.
Apart from being wrong. Its disrespectful
I agree he isn't the finished article - and honestly, we should all be worried if he is - but I would also say that for a 20 year old, to have such influence and stature within this team and the level of performance that is demanded, that is far, far harder to achieve than the levels that Grealish, Maddison etc are at within their teams. It is abundantly clear that the 'grown-ups' and the manager trust Foden to be a much bigger player than just applying finishing touches to the other players moves. But then Crooks was one of those who also wanted Foden to go out on loan.......these latest words prove again that he's clueless.
