It was a 2 horse race until Chelsea came along even then the top 4 as a phrase didn't exist, funny now that the rags and arselona have fallen out of contention its. now become the "top 6" the big 6 "

Can’t get this idea that unless a team wins a champions league they can’t be considered a great side, absolutely baffling the number of times over the years that teams have rode their luck ( fair play) and won it and clearly haven’t been the best side, yet over a 38 game league season you can ride your luck get by at times in games but overall that’s not going to win you the league unlike the champions league, carragher and mark Hughes both agreeing tonight on Monday night football, that City are a fantastic team but need to win a champions league unbelievable..

Yes the figures are subjective. Interestingly CIES Football Observatory came to the same conclusion as transfer market last year. Still best estimate but based on an algorithm using multiple data points.

Completely disagree they are inflated to make Liverpool look good. The "valuable" list has been used frequently against us as well as "most expensive". Hence I like the idea of the media (chance in a million) hammering poor little Liverpool for their excuses when in fact they have the most valuable squad.

Only legacy players pre-Pep are Dinho and Aguero (both on their last legs) with Sterling and KDB from 15/16.

The only true transfer figures are those booked in the accounts.

Aggregate amortisation for the 5 seasons from 14/15 to 18/19:

United £576 million
City £547 million
Chelsea £523 million
Liverpool £373 Million
Arsenal £366 Million.

If you add wages the totals are:

United £1.903
City £1.778
Chelsea £1.771
Liverpool £1.529
Arsenal £1.407

After profits on transfers the list remains in the same order.
Rather emphasising the point that either the dippers don’t have the most valuable squad or they do and have had the best transfer market success.

I don’t see how they have the most valuable squad. They have no depth so pretty much just an 11. We have a starting 11 plus at least 5/6/7 others who could start and it not be a weak side. I also think they are not that special and most Agree (their midfield for example is ordinary and they are reliant on the front 3).

I also don’t see the point you make about the media offering excuses for Liverpool having the most valuable squad and not coping with injuries. For the reasons above, they don’t have a great squad as we all know and if you accept that they do have the most valuable squad, based on their spend that can only be a good thing for them.

I don't have twitter so can't see the comments, what's the response like?
I've politely asked him to explain "huge financial backing "
TBF he does say that we've been brilliant, but it's bad for the PL brand as it's supposedly the most competitive league, so three years out of four, the league is over by the end of Feb
However I have an issue that he says City have huge financial backing , so I'd like him to clarify what he means
Is it that City are pumping owners money in against FFP regs, or simply that other clubs with comparable turnover are being milked by their shareholders

It's strange that the BBC are peddling this shite.. I don't remember this point being made when the dippers were dominating last year. I can't wait for this turd of an organisation to be defended although this tosser is from the torygraph.

Fckpigs, not only was this turd not wheeled out to say this last season or when the rags "dominated" but here he is when we are winning, absolute hypocrites, and not a single bit of recognition that we are financially sound through success on and off the pitch.

His bullshit about us buying during the pandemic with our "enormous backing"when poor red clubs cant(and believe me, he is only concerned for them) just ridicules the beebs own reporting of the situation. Their own daily gossip page has rags triumphantly buying everybody thats any good all across fcking europe!!!

The reporting of the red clubs being the biggest in the world according to our media falls flat on its face when confronted by a well run "small" club like City, who like to put their money on the pitch where it should be. Surely they can get some of their worldwide fans to buy some more merch, or pay for some more club run fan watchalong shite.

Their crap owners would rather pocket their clubs earnings and pay their media lapdogs to peddle the myth that City are the ones who dont care about football.

Damaging City,s brand has been the top priority and strategy of europes "elite" for a while now, with the media and other paid whores to get the message across. No wonder half of them are falling behind on the pitch, which is where Pep invited them to fight us.

The bbc, a once great institution now sunk to the level of media trolls paid to dirty our linen while "sport washing" the greed stained rags of the established order.............tv licensing, the unique way the bbc are funded......by giving the public no choice, and no genuine complaints policy either....... a bit like extortion really.
