I bet Dan Roan is sweating though. His twitter feed is packed with tweets and re-tweets which promote his personal political crusades. A lot of them are nothing to do with his role as BBC Sports Editor. Now here’s a thing. The new boss of the BBC has said today that he wants all “opinionated staff” to quit.
Unfortunately he’s referring to staff with radical left wing views and not bitter pro rag/dipper fuckwits.
His transfer fee seems to be dropping in every new article, if this carries on, pretty soon Ajax will have paid United to take him.https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/54009282

beeb telling it like it is for a change
Yes, did you hear that absolute twat Solhekol last night? Something along the lines of Van Beek is the perfect fit for Manchester United and he will be a great success. How the f**k can he know that for certain? I absolutely despise the slow talking c**t.Sky Sports currently wanking themselves into oblivion over the signings that Ole has made at the rags. No real questions of the money he's spent, just that the players were needed. Funny that, isn't it.

When they sold de Jong to Barça, they paid a full page in local newspapers in Spain, they rented a bus with de Jong picures to go around Barcelona.that letter is absolutely sickening. Ajax are a weird club think they’re European elite but seemingly throw parties when their best players move on. Very weird

Very weird but i have been told by some Ajax supporter this is the way they are marketing themselves. For us, football fans, we know Ajax is a great club with a long tradition but they are trying to appeal to the "casual fans" (football bandwagonners who will think that Barça and Ajax have a special bond and will support both clubs as a result).
Sure i remember they got him from Willem II with an odd deal (1 M + sell on bonus i believe).A lot of their academy are taken from other Dutch clubs, I thinounk they got De Jong for a Euro for example. I like Ajax I live close to and go to their ground to watch them, but the fanfare when their players go is really odd.
I didn't even know they'd signed him until reading this thread. WWW3 could have broken out for all I know but unless it was mentioned in the Messi threads I wouldn't have a scooby.£35M now i see.
By the start of the season he will be yet another academy product that cost nothing.
Makes you wonder if they get their ideas off Bluemoon, as thats how its referred to here. You can just imagine the spineless red trolls carrying out that sort of thing while being paid by the public, then coming on here to count the comments related to their shite. Well if there are any red loving beeb wankers reading this, just think that shortly you will be out of work. I know this because not one of you does enough to be employed by a media outlet that doesnt get their income from people who are forced to pay, but when the license fee is dropped, dont worry, I for one will think about you as I spend the money on something enjoyable.https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/54009282

That's Linekar dumped for starters.Story below from Guardian.
One hopes it may extend to sports reporters/presenters. I think it's hard for journalists to be able to argue their coverage is objective/independent when you can find evidence of their own, personal views on social media or in opinion pieces. As a now ex-journo I was always of the view that having your own views out there undermined the important job you were doing. IMO, sports journos are now - mostly - glorified op-edders.
BBC boss Tim Davie to crack down on staff airing views on social media
The new director general said the BBC had to focus on impartiality to address accusations of bias from politicians on both sides of the political divide.
“If you want to be an opinionated columnist or a partisan campaigner on social media then that is a valid choice, but you should not be working at the BBC,” he said in a speech to staff at the BBC’s office in Cardiff. Davie said staff would have to adhere to new social media rules that will be “rigorously enforced”.
