The technology is not accurate to within millimetres. It depends on when the frame is frozen and that depends on the shutter speed. We are just being conned by PGMOL. The only way forward is for the referee to use the video as an extra tool and make the judgement himself based on what he sees. If level the attacker gets the benefit of the doubt. The whole thing is just a money-making scheme for PGMOL and the referees who are now being paid a lot more money because the Stockley Park operation means they work on more matches. All the drawing of squiggly lines is bollocks.

All on screen var reviews should us the stadium screens as in rugby, so fans Shen we get back can see what’s being used. If you don’t have a stadium screen they should be made to put one in

You simply can't allow decisions to be made with such a large technical margin of error. The issue is not really about when players are level (or not) but when the ball leaves the player's foot or head. The frozen frame from the Laporte decison against Wolves shows the ball had deflected off Bernardo's head and was just in the air. If they had used the immediate frame before (when the ball was touching Bernardo's head) Laporte was onside. The system is absurd but so few media people seem prepared to call it out for what it is. As it is being used VAR is damaging football. It should be a tool to help the referee.

What about, "biggest non trophy parade ever"......or "most bottlings and stabbings averted by not having a parade ever", they should hand them those.
Just think barring a couple of thousand for one game, after 30 years of pain none of that famous Anfield crowd will have seen them defend their trophy, if we get back in during May they'll already have lost it again.

Gives me a little warm feeling inside.

Completely agree mate, but for the sake of transparency, the crowds at the game seeing a re-run of and incident must happen.
Was there not an angle for the Lorente goal not shown to ref but played on sky.
Personally offside needs a complete re-think to favour the attacker not the defender. We want goals and excitement

The second BBC online article today is a negative City story. Just a cut-and-paste re-hash with no quotes at all. Essentially a fabricated article with no comments from Sergio and the club. Typical of the sub-standard output of Simon Stone.
Yesterday's headline in the same prominent position on the BBC main football page was: "The remarkable rise of Bruno Fernandez." Again it was totally unbalanced and without any context with no mention of Fernandes's dire form since Christmas and in all the big games. Sycophantic drivel.
Slyman stones is the person at the bbc I would most like to meet

That's a shame given how it's playing out.

For the benefit of the FOCs in CBL3 and other FOCs elsewhere 38cm is over fifteen fuckin' inches! The Whelk Shed Emporium Operatives are using a system that turns Video Assistance into Variable Assistance. And I bet we've been fifteen inches further back on every disallowed goal and Rags 'n Dippers have been fifteen inches further forward .
My missus regularly gets 15 inches.
Well 5 time a year to be frank.
