Why would anybody boo Paul Power? There really are some fucking idiots in this world.

Nearly 450 games for the club, the man's a legend.
100% agree with you pal. A very loyal club servant and a hard working and talented mid- fielder who was City through to his core.
But moaners and boo boys permeate our club (as they do in most clubs), I remember Richard Edgehill getting the same boo boy treatment.
Paul Powers goal vs Ipswich Town in the 1981 semi-final is one of the ICONIC goals in the history of our great club.

Corruption of referees is one thing but the almost conspiratorial way Sky’s commentators immediately said it was the correct decision (re: Foden) is even more concerning because they are trying to sell us something that directly contradicts with our own eyes.
Two quotes from Orwell's 1984 which seem appropriate:

"And if all others accepted the lie which the Party imposed — if all records told the same tale — then the lie passed into history and became truth."

“The party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command.”

That is why the incessant Citeh Bingo from the G14/US owned redshirts and their media cheeleaders and client journalists is potentially so damaging. It’s all very well saying ignore it but if you a lie is repeated often enough without challenge or scrutiny, then it will eventually be accepted as truth

Tomorrow’s Mirror
Cash wins again for Man Citeh against the wonderfully brave injury ravaged Saints at the soulless emptyhad. Jon Moss put his failed relationship with Boy George aside to referee this game on an east Manchester turnip field incredibly well. He spotted a clear Foden dive in the box when other less informed viewers screamed PEN. As usual the City keystone cop defense gave away their 37th stonewall pen of the season as Southampton toyed with the out of sorts bitter billionaires. Citeh scored a couple of lucky deflected goals from the 600 million pound want away flop Mahrez to take charge before super Saint Adams scored the goal of the game as he copied his idol Luke Shaw in slamming a brilliant goal past Jaws at the traditional “United end” which of course is the only part of this cold concrete bowl with atmosphere.
this made me laugh out loud. thank you

Persuasive commentary is a powerful tool.

It would be like having somebody say "Did you see that plane fly into that building?"
And then, when asked what happened, the person saying a plane flew into the building, even though they'd never seen it.

Do it on social media to enough people and they accept it to be truth.

City make tactical fouls.
Liverpool play great football.
Paul Scholes can't tackle.
City use financial doping.
Etc.

All regarded as truth by the masses.

Never stop questioning the truth.

Thing is about the media the lies do get to believed as real.
For example I always thought utd were this European super power until ( cant remember who old I was ) I heard RM had been champions league or what ever it was called be for that , had win it 9 times. 9 times yet the British press/media call utd a power house i think at the time had won it twice or less I think

I was only young at the time but clearly remember him getting some horrendous stick from the Kippax, especially in his final season when he mainly played at left back. He then played exactly the same way for Everton the following season and won a deserved title medal. So it seems the problem wasn’t him after all...
I wasn't disbelieving you, I know he did, probably the same people who destroyed Edgehill years later.

Lol, what a simpering spoiled fuckwit, I strongly suspect that this has been written by a low ranked beeb employee in their footy dept crying because we have the ability and mentality to handle a defeat and bounce straight back, (something Pep feels is so important).

If it is a genuine footy fan, then shamefully they have no idea about soul, a clubs soul comes from the fans, and what clubs fans have been through more "hardships" than ours. Certainly not those clubs he mentioned. Clubs that have been actively helped and aided by the tv/media since the pl began.

The media who proactively support a few "big" clubs and print articles ridiculing their closest rivals, while totally ignoring scores of genuine clubs with genuine fans because they dont have the "commerciality", is that "soul"???

Its also funny, or just coincidence that the three clubs he mentions are the three most sucessful, why, he might have soulfully flitted from one to the other as current success(or soul) dictates. Either way, what he really wants to say is that we are not as successful.

However, that would be like saying cliff richard is more soulful than Marvin Gaye, because hes had more number ones.
I saw that garbage when it was posted last night and my immediate thought was it was drafted by some bitter rag employed at Media City. "Alex from Yatton" my arse.

He sadly became a target for the boo boys in his last couple of seasons with City, despite his long service, dedication and loyalty to the club. The chance to join a title contender at that stage of his career was too good to pass up.
His running and early crossing from deep was ideally suited to that Everton side with a striker like Graeme Sharp who was actually capable of getting on the end of them. Scored what I think was the winner for them at Maine Road and declined to celebrate
Remember the time he was booed and there was a subsequent interview with him in (I think) the MEN, saying he wouldn't let them drive him out of the club. He lived near my mum for a time in Mobberley after he finished playing and helped her choose an excellent bottle of red for my Xmas present one year. The man was a legend.
