Miracles will never cease. Dermot Gallagher on SSN's ref watch admitted the Foden incident was a nailed on penalty. He didn't blame Moss's initial decision but said VAR should have picked it up and Moss should have checked the pitchside monitor which would have shown it was a clear penalty.

next time something like that happens and the team loses he be back on saying the same thing! Bottom line nothing will change the Spot light needs to be Riley an utter incompetence useless fcuker

Don't forget that Paul Power was a great addition to Evertons league winning squad as well.
I think he got a league winners medal for the 1987 title winning season.
He use to frequent my local the old Plough in Ashton on Mersey after finishing his career. Never talked to the man because he was usually surrounded by his mates, but always thought why he left our club for theirs.

He sadly became a target for the boo boys in his last couple of seasons with City, despite his long service, dedication and loyalty to the club. The chance to join a title contender at that stage of his career was too good to pass up.
His running and early crossing from deep was ideally suited to that Everton side with a striker like Graeme Sharp who was actually capable of getting on the end of them. Scored what I think was the winner for them at Maine Road and declined to celebrate

Why do the BBC publish shit like this on their main live match day reporting?

"For all Man City's success and wealth (just look at that squad!) their club lacks the most important thing, a soul. People may laugh but the reason other clubs like Liverpool, Man Utd, Arsenal amongst others come through hardships is because of a real fan base that helps to push the club on coupled with genuine principles that these clubs live by. Money is part of the modern game but aside from this what do City have? A belief in the academy? Loyalty from players? Or fans? I don't think so. Would Pep stick around if they were still at Maine Road without the wealth? They can't even fill their own stadium at the best if times. Yes they'll win the league but they won't win the hearts of football fans.
Alex, Yatton"

Absolute fanboy bollocks getting a platform on a publicly funded broadcaster. No way would that be given the light of day for any other club.

Lol, what a simpering spoiled fuckwit, I strongly suspect that this has been written by a low ranked beeb employee in their footy dept crying because we have the ability and mentality to handle a defeat and bounce straight back, (something Pep feels is so important).

If it is a genuine footy fan, then shamefully they have no idea about soul, a clubs soul comes from the fans, and what clubs fans have been through more "hardships" than ours. Certainly not those clubs he mentioned. Clubs that have been actively helped and aided by the tv/media since the pl began.

The media who proactively support a few "big" clubs and print articles ridiculing their closest rivals, while totally ignoring scores of genuine clubs with genuine fans because they dont have the "commerciality", is that "soul"???

Its also funny, or just coincidence that the three clubs he mentions are the three most sucessful, why, he might have soulfully flitted from one to the other as current success(or soul) dictates. Either way, what he really wants to say is that we are not as successful.

However, that would be like saying cliff richard is more soulful than Marvin Gaye, because hes had more number ones.

In Printing this hate mail surely the BBC should be called out by the Club. The hate is now getting really blatant.

Good answer that pal, I was thinking something along those lines myself.
The only thing I would disagree with is the fact he was a target for the boo boys long before the last couple of seasons with City.
The company I worked for in 1980/81 had 3 season tickets in The North Stand and there were a lot of boo boys (and women) who used to give him a hard time even in those days.

It’s gone on for years! For whatever reasons racism, religion (don’t go there) clickbait, I can’t ever see it changing. We have to challenge it though, at ever opportunity. Just imagine if Pep had chosen United!!! That would have been excruciating, it would have seen me off. Let’s be thankful.
God yes Pep at United I've not thought of that...gladly hes not a prick not sure the Glaziers would be his kind of people

Why would anybody boo Paul Power? There really are some fucking idiots in this world.

Nearly 450 games for the club, the man's a legend.

I was only young at the time but clearly remember him getting some horrendous stick from the Kippax, especially in his final season when he mainly played at left back. He then played exactly the same way for Everton the following season and won a deserved title medal. So it seems the problem wasn’t him after all...
