Conn at it in The Guardian and he's got a full house and then some in the City Bingo card.

My biggest issue is that he says our owners have pumped £2.5B into the club which is not true. They have spent that amount on The City Football Group by acquiring other teams and building the infrastructure of said teams.

City have obviously been the main benefactor of the money but no one truly knows how much they have spent solely on us.

But tell a lie long enough and people will accept it as truth
I think the true figure for Mansour is £500m for the team building losses and £250m for CFA. Money for purchase of the club, of course, went to the then shareholders.

Because these articles, quotes and arguments to try and belittle the achievements of our club, owner and Pep are born from one thing....

FEAR

The history clubs and their ex-players, and the rest of the jealous mob are fearful of what has been happening before there eyes since Sheihk Mansour arrived on these shores.

Take one massive example of that playing out on BT sports when Joe Cole said Kane should go to City - Ferdinand couldn't hold that thought in his head, the fear rose and he went straight into school boy bully mode spouting 'united are the biggest club' - Ferdinand had to re-assure himself that Kane to the rags was a no-brainer based on some old history shite that they are a bigger club - and then you had the giddy BT anchor laughing like the sad kid who hides behind the school bully hanging onto his every whim

The old pisscan said 'never in my lifetime', the takeover was seen as a joke at the time and one that wouldn't last.

We have overtaken them all in every part that MATTERS - Infrastructure, Scouting, Academy, Players, Managers, breaking domestic records, and now collecting trophies each season = FEAR

The only thing we lack is this stupid statement of being seen as a "bigger club" - based on what, overseas fans, well that doesn't bother me one iota - they can keep it. Is it based on trophies? - well we are addressing that currently are we not, But then they realise that if we start by lifting a 1st CL trophy this Saturday then they will be worried about us winning more

The truth is (and I will use myself as an example age wise, I am 42yrs old) that the red top history clubs (who believe they have this divine right to be lauded as the pinnacle of the English game) are realising that what has been built has the POTENTIAL to go on and become the most successful English club side ever = FEAR

FEAR is written all over this. It is between the lines in everything they say, every article that is written, every snide little comment that is made live on TV or radio.
Very well said & so true

He isn't a City fan, he's a snide underhand disgrace to journalism.

I used to get myself worked up by the likes of Conn, Delaney and the other nutters. But that was during the FFP case and they were sticking the knife in while the could. Now that’s over and were winning trophy after trophy, all I do is laugh. Writing about City having money 13 years after the takeover is funny as fuck.

thing with these “fans” who support there local club like a York a Gillingham and there second club is a Liverpool or the scum is when they doing shit they go dormant and a one club local fan but when there second club start winning they start again with support over social media! A great example it this season and Liverpool doing shite don’t see nowt of them on social media then once they get top three they all out on there being dicks..
You play down the support and passion these fans have for their clubs, doing them a disservice.

We’ve all met loads of football fans from all over the country over the years and, in my experience anyway, a vast majority of them support their clubs in exactly the same manner that we support City. Doesn’t matter if it’s City, Derby, Shrewsbury or Crawley, they are as passionate about their club as any fans in the country. The idea of having a second club isn’t even entertained by most.

The football is shit and these clubs will be struggling financially but fans of Yeovil and Northampton and all the others still religiously go to every game. But they all have a situation where they leave their stadium and head back to the pub after the game only to see the place packed with Redshirts for the 17:30 KO. It must drive them to despair! Lads they went to school with and have no connection to Manchester or Liverpool all their in their replica tops, while their local club who the whole town should be proud of and get behind have just had a game in a half full stadium and they might not have a club next season as they’re up the wall financially.

They only do it because our success is really hurting them. Just relax and enjoy their pain.

This Frank McAvennie ?

The same guy who ended up playing in the Gateshead Sunday league & used to telleveryone how much he hated West Ham

And he has made £765m back selling a 13% stake to the chinese investors and a 10% stake to silverlake

which means he is only out of pocket for approximately £150m he spent when he purchased the club.

Gotta think that 77% of the city football group is worth considerably more than £150m.

The man has made a killing, while at the same time making us the most successful premier league team over the past 10 years.
I was about to post that the man sure knows how to run a football club, but I am not sure he does, but he knows who does and employs them to do it. Khaldoon, Txiki and Ferran are those people.

As other posters have said the way we are organised is making red history clubs fearful for the future and rightly so.

Great post.

A great deal of fans of these Redshirt clubs are only fans because they attach themselves to the glory aspect of the club they’ve chosen to support. Especially the out of towners.

This is usually from being insecure from the outset as individuals.

They’re too insecure to support Lincoln, Plymouth, or Shamrock Rovers, so they attach themselves to United and Liverpool. They live it up in some sort of weird reflected glory… but as soon as that glory wanes or disappears as their clubs aren’t top dogs anymore, their insecurities come to the fore. They can’t handle that a club they once made banners about their trophy drought and had more songs mocking them than they had about themselves, have started to win trophies like they once did but at the same time smashing all-time English football records in the process.

This is where all this fear and belittling comes in, they’re just insecure little boys who can’t deal with their reflected glory being taken away from them. But in a social media age, it’s not just the out of towners with this attitude, it’s the entire fanbases plus their hangers on from the media. It becomes a culture of insecurity and fear across the lot of them!

Can't argue with any of that.

I would add that they assuage their angst by claiming that their successes are/were "authentic" where as ours are not.

Hence this bizarre bollocks about how our trophies come with an *

Sad fuckers.

They only do it because our success is really hurting them. Just relax and enjoy their pain.
And when the winning cycle is over, or they find the next scandal / piece of dirt. They will never stop looking.
There is no coexistence.
