Did you hear the wall to wall coverage of what Kompany did for the homeless in Manchester? Me neitherExactly. The PR machine for St Marcus has done so well that you are made to feel churlish if you don't kiss his backside. Most decent people would agree with the work FareShare and other charities have done and continue to do. There are 200,000 charities in UK and they have had to adapt to the current situation as they cannot raise money by events etc and l have the greatest admiration for them all. Watching the ads on TV is often harrowing for me but there are thousands of volunteers dealing with the problems on the ground. As l said they have my deep admiration.
You're spot on about the general public believing the lies - and the blue checkmarks like Harris know that, they play on it and post inflammatory tweets purposely.Sadly i agree with you. Its a shame the club doesnt start to take action because its not just the club that have to put up with is abuse, us fans do as well. It get worse year after year.
After our FA Cup win in 2011, my 11 year old son on holiday in cornwall and went into the coop in Hayle were someone started having a pop at him about dirty Arab oil money , had had to step in the middle of the coop and ask this local if he wanted to carry this on outside, he didnt.
The year later when in St Ives i had some bloke of about 50 call me a wanker as i walked down the road to the beach ok it doesnt bother me i am old enough and ugly enough to look after myself.
But it would be nice if the club did come out and put these people straight. The general public believe these twats, they believe City did cheat FFP, they believe all the lies about City and all the human rights crap, they believe City are state own. But its us fans that get the abuse in the streets , on holiday etc. For the great things City do i wish they would take on this bitter lying press/media in this country. I even came close to a fight the other year when on holiday two gobby twats shouting of how City have been breaking FFP etc. Now they believe that we postponed and we are treated differently
I dont want to stop wearing my City stuff but i might have to to please the wife, never use to have this trouble when we were shit lol
I think pundits are perfectly entitled to make stupid comments if they wish. It's called freedom of speech. But lies, especially ones which damage your brand, should always be challenged. Leeds were not promoted because of Covid. They were on a brilliant run of five straight wins when lockdown happened and lost the first match after the break. The Leeds Comms team were just doing their job properly. City are not proactive enough and that's one of the reasons we have suffered in the media. If clubs posted social media posts every time a pundit said something completely clueless and untrue about them, they'd be posting 24/7.
If anyone can find one example I’ll buy them a biscuit.have any of the press/media come out and wished the City players and staff well ?
Spot on mate, we’ve seen how damming social media can be against us, having people actually working positively for us surely in the long time would be a massive positive.True - but I also believe that City have been very slow in realising that you need to play the 'social media' game – massive corporations like Disney realised long ago and use it to influence opinion for their benefit... City need to wise up and start a social media offensive... not fighting the trolls - sorry 'journos' - but start positively influencing through social media.
