Saying they were only promoted because the break due to Covid gave them a rest, conveniently forgetting or probably not knowing that they had just won five on the bounce without conceding. Lost first game after football started so the rest did them a world of good. Well done Leeds for calling her out. The ugly side of social media rears it's head again, on any given topic there seems to be abuse from any angle and viewpoint. That being said Carney being put right by Leeds isn't a bad thing, it's a response I would have liked to have seen from City everytime a journo or hanger-on talked badly about us in this way.

Carney doesn't deserve the incredible barrage of shit thrown at her, but she does deserve to have it pointed out to her that she's talking out of her arse.

Spot-on. City are quite good at doing the local community stuff online but we do not appear to have a robust approach to some of the harder news stories and false narratives. One of the most basic rules of Comms is that you tackle false damaging information head-on. If you leave a false narrative out there then it soon becomes an "established truth."
Some of these social media accounts have huge audiences. Rob Harris's biased (and sometimes false) reporting on FFP for example is syndicated across the world to hundreds (perhaps thousands) of media organisations. He works for AP one of the biggest news agencies in the world. His coverage has caused huge damage to City's reputation and undermined us commercially. It's very disturbing when you consider he makes regular appearances on Al Jazeera (the propaganda channel for the Qatar regime)
Ignoring this sort of content has been a big mistake by City in my view.

Yep, Parry and Gill did very well in choosing Harris and Panja as their shills and mouthpieces given the global reach of their erstwhile employers
