"Merceneries". i'd forgotten that one. It is slightly off-topic because that was daft fans rather than the media, in the main, but kids all over the internet of the United persuasion were using it willy-nilly back in the day.The "no history" and the "empty seats" bollocks (City had fewer and a lower percentage of empty or unsold seats than the Rags and the Dippers pre lockdown) is why so many blues get wound up and challenge these tossers as they're factually inaccurate or in some cases outright lies.
It's either a deliberate ploy to wind fans up or it's a basic failure to fact check, either way it's piss poor "journalism"
It used to be stuff like "35 years", "you can't buy success", "You'll always be second best to Ushited" and branding all our players as "mercenaries"
As we've been the most successful club in the country for a decade, haven't broken the British transfer record for over 12 years and have a lower wage bill than their 2 darlings, they can't use these anymore so they're desperately scraping the barrel and in some cases questioning the loyalty of the fans.
The club clearly doesn't think it's worth giving these wankers the time of day by responding and these no marks seem to think that this gives them the green light to spread more lies.
Twats like Nob Harris have come out with statements implying as much.
Guess what Nob (we know you lurk on here), you're not worth the clubs effort but the fans will call you out when you spout your inaccurate bile.
Just imagine how it felt on 28-4-12 when Kompany, Zabaleta, Aguero, Toure and all of those other mercenaries showed ten times as much heart and commitment as their "legends" to outplay, outrun and outfight their team in the most important derby of all time.
