I noticed that too, nothing on the BBC until they found a potential fly in the ointment. And today their featured newspaper image in the gossip section shows the Daily Star's headline that our bid is 'doomed'.

Why the fuck would the BBC be promoting such a laughable 'newspaper' unless of course to placate the hoards of dribbling scousers and rags that have found someone to read it for them.
The Mail have something about how signing Messi would shatter football finances and with two football lawyers claiming we have never reached CL semi final and the other saying part of Messi's wages could be made up through selling the masses of empty seats we have every week. If we had the sort of attendances these idiots seem to think we have, there would never be a problem getting a tram back home.

I've just read it. It's bizarre because straight from the off it says Messi won't get more, or probably as much, as he's currently getting at Barcelona. That would suggest that either football finances are already 'shattered' or that City signing Messi wouldn't actually change anything. Still, it was a catchy headline!

The operative word for many of those who inhabit the realm of the RDAHMeedya!

We’ve gone from you can’t buy success to you bought the league.
From Pep won’t adapt to being so good the league is boring.
We’re about to enter the Messi isn’t all that phase. Like the other phases they will be spinning it a different way after a season.

If he comes the next phase will be unhappy players forced out of the team and Foden needs to leave to further his career.

If only we had extended the other end of the ground we could have generated even more empty seats and gone for Ronaldo aswell

Sadly not many of the traditional curry houses left. Lots of jewellery shops solicitors and high street fast food outlets.

And that magic smell of spice in the air has gone.
Instead the spice can now be found around Piccadilly Gardens

Messi could be coming to the Premier League and the 'journalists' treat it as a bad thing YCMIU.
They have to stop City becoming popular at all costs and having the next generation of football fans so they try to put a negative spin on everything we do.
Sign Messi = Bad for the league
Win PL = Not a good team until back to back titles
Win back to back titles = Not good until win Champions League
Win All domestic trophies in one season = Cheated through FFP
Win with 100 points = Weak league.........
Innocent of FFP through CAS = Only got off on a technicality

By the way - this is the same press that want Bale at Utd and up until recently spouted Ronaldo back too - it's not the footballer they don't like, it's the team he's going to.
We cannot 'win' with the media whatever we do. With that in mind i'd loike to see us go out and get Messi and Mbappe and then have a big 'fuck you' signing on party.

Anyone in any doubt about the motivation behind that frankly bizarre Jonathan Wilson article should probably know he is now a card carrying member of the WhatsApp group

He's a ****.
Useless, biased, UEFA leak free, bitter ****.

He makes it sound sinister that we are good at following the law lmao!

Yeah the best and fairer solution is for Barca and La Liga to hold a free agent hostage!

He’s still reeling from his shite ‘reporting’ (read; complete lack of comprehension) of FFP and taking EUFA’s leaks as gospel alongside Der Speigal’s altered 4 emails.

I let curiosity get the better of me and read it. It's really not that bad, apart from that idiot lawyer talking about crowds and that we'll make money from selling more tickets. I was in JMW's office on a regular basis before lockdown so I'll be knocking on his door next time I do go in, and having a polite word!

Rob Wilson's contribution was sound, saying what i've been saying, which is that Messi's not getting £1m a week directly from Barca but probably half that. The rest comes from image rights/commercial deals. He also said he won't be getting. more than KDB, which is what i've heard.

Not getting to a CL semi under Pep has suddenly become never having reached one and a few empty seats turned into a half empty stadium. I assume it's aimed at a much wider audience than the average match going blue, but the snide put downs are intentional, although I assume that's possibly the journos handiwork rather than the people he was quoting.
