Personally I don’t think it would matter a shite even if we had the best PR team in the history of the known universe. There’s no money to be had in portraying City as anything other than ghastly vulgarians cheating their way to the top. We carry no clout as a fanbase ourselves, and as a naturally cast enemy of the two clubs with the biggest and most demented demographics we’re a tailor made source of clicks. One look at the Liverpool Echo, which runs more negative stories about City than it does positive ones about Darlingpool, tells you all you need to know.
Until we start suing some of the worst offenders - which we never will because of the disclosure/justification laws associated with libel cases - then nothing will change. We’re not dealing with journalists interested in things like the truth, just a set of grasping cnuts on an ego trip....
Well said. Once you see it, you can’t unsee it. I just ignore it most of the times now.

From BBCs live text coverage. Spot the odd one out:

“Ferran Torres is probably the pick of the new Premier League signings on show in Stuttgart.

The Spanish winger looks a real handful and has shown great awareness and a clean pair of heels to trouble Germany's defence.

Very little from Chelsea's Timo Werner so far while Torres' international team-mate Rodrigo, Leeds United's stellar signing of the summer, has missed his side's best chance.”
Like Voldemort,“He who must not be named”

Davie also said there would be a crackdown on stars using their status at the BBC to make money working for private companies, saying there would be “clearer direction on the declaration of external interests”.

Lineker and a fair few others picking up huge salaries from the Beeb and also working for BT, Sky Channel 4 and Channel 5, needs to stop.

Can't help but think certain journalists would be accusing City of doping had we got as many asthmatics playing for us as the dippers...

We're not talking tittle tattle or gossip. This is profit making. We make money for them. On top of that is the utd /lfc fanboys working in the media. And then on top of g that is the undertones of racism towards our type of owners. AND then on top of that there is the manoeuvres by our rivals with their links to the media.

We don't stand a chance no matter what.

We're a cash cow of hate and until our clickbaitability improves we're always going to be portrayed negatively
Our own fans make money for them because they need to know what people are calling us, that's on top of all the rags and dippers.
Maybe because I am getting older but I don't understand the need to follow all the tittle tattle.

Back in the sixties one of the big names of the day was shown the door because he did an advert for Campbell's soup. Times change! Edit I have been told that it was margarine.

Lineker is not a BBC employee as such. He's essentially a contractor with 2 jobs - one at BBC and one at BT.

The external interests thing will be specific, and the columnist restriction will likely not go as far as some imagine (IMO).

BBC should still fuck him off, over a million a year from them and the **** gets all preachy.
