Rashford's baseline cause is a worthy one, however, the media machine driving the campaign is definitely not motivated by altruism, nited are milking it big time as are the Boris bashers. The government have provided additional funds to local authorities for kids meals during hols etc. It's not a simple 'free meals' - 'no free meals' scenario, as anyone with half a brain can discern. That said, it's not the lad's fault.
Hate Boris means love Marcus to quite a few on here. If Sir Keith Starmer was in exactly the same situation doing exactly the same thing the comments would be very different.

There is an article on BBC web page this morning about Sterlings new foundation to help disadvantage young people to which he his donating £1 million. Be interesting to see if it makes headline on tv for the next 5 days or how many times Silly Sally interviews him on the cosy little breakfast show.

They still shoe-horn Rashford into the last paragraph, just in case we didn't know what he has been doing.

And you and Newquay Blue underneath are spot on. Advertising and hype can work miracles on the unsuspecting.
What is sad is when posters on here revert to childish name calling or they go the opposite way with far worse when someone has the cheek to disagree with them.
It seems that now as soon a few posters decide what is right everyone has to agree whether they like it or not.

We still press as hard but the other teams have become fitness junkies and can press more then us. Our Players looks gassed after 30Minutes because they are not used to this. 2017 Opponents got tired but nowadays they ignore it and still have energy left.

In Pep Book he specific says he plays possession to tire out the opponents but clubs evolved and can withstand it

doping works. Football has just become a hybrid of the athletics events at the Olympics, all about physical performance and having a killer front-line to twat it in whenever the ball drops.

Yep, anyone who complains about Rashford doing this is a ****, pure and simple. Sorry but it's true and ironically, they're being as self centered and selfish as they claim he is.
You're right of course in this case, but your opinion is only based on the fact that it suits your usual agenda to be contrary to most Bluemooners.

Something to do with red?

Manchester United should pay their fair share of taxes instead of offshoring. This would support his scheme. That’s not to say he is not a caring person and should not be admired.

As for the policy I would rather see a government spend on trying to get the reasons for poverty down. There’s loads of safeguarding triggers in schools for kids that are hungry and mistreated. Loads. The CPOMS system works well. Kids at my wife’s school get referred if their bag smells of cannabis. You might think that’s over the top but that’s a trigger. They get a visit. There’s lots of kids who got free school meals in summer whose parents did not come for them. They all got visits from social workers. So just paying for food is not going to work if parents don’t bother getting it.

Mufc players pay the most tax, they have the biggest wage bill.
I do agree that food poverty is a symptom, and i don't think we can change the culture of some people who are third generation social dependants.
Feeding the hungry kids may help, but the same kids will go on to create another generation of hungry kids.

Biggest earnings do not mean most tax paid. Far from it. That applies to companies and individuals with a multitude of schemes to lessen tax

Marcus Rashford is said to have said that parents should buy food for their kids rather than clothes and shoes. Simplistically this seems obvious but it can vary on circumstances and context. But far more simple is that parents should feed and clothe their children before they deface their own bodies with tattoos. How many children go hungry because their parents get tattooed instead? Very many indeed l would say.

I see David Silva's Real Sociadad sit top of the La Liga table after a 4-1 win, Merlin with 2 assists. I think many of our fans took his creative abilities a bit for granted towards the end.

Bet he loves it no parked bus plenty of time to pick those passes l
Agreed, but he was also one of the best at breaking down those parked buses. ;-)
This season at times we look to have little creativity. A number of our fans used to regularly criticise him last season, but he's the same age as Messi and you don't lose that invention and creativity overnight.
