If only we had the most fans in the Far East and social media followers. Finishing top of the league and winning games of football don’t count.

Dunno if we've got an official noodle sponsor but I do recall telling the other half that we have got an official dating app. The just of our conversation was that even with tinder I ain't gonna do better. Ouch!

I just dont understand Sam Lee and I dont understand the club to be ok that he writes about City for the Athletic. Even if he is right about problem between Pep and Kun the timing is just a PR disaster and he knows it . No one who has any love for the club would choose this time to publish a story like that.
That's the issue for me. The story is two months old in any event. It is obvious that there has been strain between Pep and Sergio as he comes to the end of his career. This is what happens to all great players. Look at Messi and Barca this last year FFS.
Pep has had to make a painful decision. That is what he is paid to do in these situations. Sergio will have a brilliant swansong at Barca before heading off to the MLS, probably with his pal Messi (that was the plan all along).
But the timing of this story is bizarre and it shows poor judgement by the reporter. It is not Sam Lee's job to write propaganda for the club or for us fans. But covering a football club as a reporter requires a more subtle approach and this story will damage his reputation and what is left of The Athletic's reputation. It is a commercial blunder.

Yes the great Cantona who charged the Munich survivors charity £90,000 to play in a charity match
£90,055.01 I'll have you know. Yes, down to the last penny. The rags were then the richest club in the world and they paid the Kronenbourg swilling, kipper smelling, greedy twat's invoice out of the proceeds of the benefit match proceeds rather than their own bulging coffers. Vile man. Vile club.

Dead right. The action or inaction by MUFC from 1958 to this very day have been disgusting.

He’s a journalist. They shouldn’t care if it’s a pr disaster or not, if it’s newsworthy it’s newsworthy.

I get the sentiment around actual bias with quite a few journalists but I do think at times when people talk about the media, what they really want is just a city fanzine. That’s fine, they exist too, just read them instead.

It’s the last thing I personally want, nor do I want them to turn into sycophantic empty vessels like some journalists and papers are with other clubs.

Spygate was newsworthy.

I get the point you are making but the media bash City because they are aligned closely with Liverpool and Man Utd for a number of reasons and they simply do not scrutinise those clubs in the same way that they scrutinise us. See the MUG's coverage of the CL final referee where they are trying to stir trouble.

It was, but it wasn’t news we particularly wanted out either to be fair!

I agree on the second para, my point was I want balanced journalism rather than either extreme.
