Team Talk's latest bullshit headline is "Liverpool backed to complete blockbuster Tottenham transfer to dwarf Haaland, Man City deal". It's about Kane signing for the dippers which would never happen unless they offered absolutely stupid money but it's the hypocrisy that gets me. City are apparently ruining football but Liverpool are (according to fake Irishman and all round knobhead Cascarino in the article) "should fight fire with fire and break the bank for Harry Kane" which would presumably ruin football and cause serious transfer fee and wage inflation. No counter argument or criticism of such a scenario because it would be OK because it's the nation's beloved dippers.

I think there are loads of things the Scousers can and should be criticised for but booing an anthem dedicated to the leader of an establishment that during various times over the years has actively gone out of their way to screw their City over is not one I would go for.
Are you suggesting we all boo it then?

It depends if it's a principled stance or not. For example, loads of them aren't shy about working at HM's Passport Office or the Home Office in Liverpool. The city is packed with public sector jobs all operating under the 'HM' banner, because they are incapable of/unwilling to try to get private enterprise off the ground. If they hated the establishment that much then why would they happily work for the establishment?

Another thing you've got is that they've been to Wembley finals many times between the 1980s and the Klopp era and NOT booed the national anthem. It seemed to come back into fashion once they'd won the 2019 Champions League for no obvious reason other than to say "we're relevant again, how can we make ourselves the centre of attention?".

You look at crowd shots of their end and it's a diverse mix of people, most of whom probably have no connection to the city. They have fewer than 6,000 season ticket holders with a Liverpool postcode. They booed Abide With Me even though the club re-released it to mark the 33rd anniversary of Hillsborough just the other week. That's how stupid, ignorant and uninformed they are.

I could go on about respect and the ever-diminishing quality of being able to disagree with something without being a fucking wanker about it, but that'd take too long. No doubt there are many City fans who are republicans but don't boo it because they are aware that the person next to them might wish to observe it. Not everything is about me, me, me.

In my opinion therefore, booing Abide With Me and the national anthem had fuck all to do with a principled stance and everything to do with a narcissistic cult of self-centred weirdos setting out to make it all about them. Politics doesn't even begin to enter the discussion.

Yea read on line the DM ( I know ) but the DM did say it was the dippers.

The comments section was interesting most were slacking of football fans in the whole. Not naming the dippers but all football fans. Seemed odd when the paper saying scousers but the public saying both Chelsea and dippers and all football fans are twats !

It's a class thing

Post of the week this, you tap in Abide with me on Google, one of the first articles is from the Anglican Church, very prevalent in Liverpool

They didn't boo when the Monarchy and British Government supported slavery. Those were the glory days of Liverpool.

They have always been the same, loudmouth narcissistic shitehouses. It's all got to be about them or they whine like fuck. There is a recent video I stumbled on, that blonde haired MMA fighter who's a Liverpool fan, some scouse female fighter and Wayne Rooney. They're in a dressing room and Rooney goes in to congratulate them. The girl gives him a hug and says, "Doing it for the scousers mate"or some such tripe. They're the same wherever you go in the world. As soon as I hear that whining nasal tone I die inside and try and get myself as far away as possible from them. If trapped on a plane with them it's a living hell.

It was a porincipled stance, they believed that "Yeull vevah waulk aloan" should have been sung (by everyone in the country) instead

Every holiday I have ever been on we seem to play "avoid the scousers" you just know they will be trouble.
