Journalists enjoy little public respect. An Ipsos Mori poll in 2020 put the percentage of people who trust journalists to tell the truth at 23%
I know we say it a lot in gest about people being obsessed with us but I genuinely believe that Nick Harris has a pathological hatred of City, our fans and a very unhealthy obsession about the Club, his behaviour is outright weird. He's delved into open football tribalism now: City fans being weaponised bots, any achievement from the club under Mansour is artificial, dull & requires an asterisk etc etc. He's literally a bot who gains his sense of journalistic worth from Liverpool & United fans lapping him up on Twitter, it's all quite sad really.
His essential MO is that any sponsorship we have from Abu Dhabi must be a front for disguised owner investment & therefore we would be a massive loss making organisation without them, essentially any UAE sponsor = not legitimate. Mental. Here's an articulate breakdown of anyone who buys this nonsense:
How many trophies have been won by teams wearing blue as compared to red over the last 10 years?
I think us and Chavs combined (honourary mention to Leicester) dwarf the Redshirts tally. So why are the sports media insistent on promoting the red bastards as the best teams in the country when recent honours wise they aren't.
And they never seem to understand that if in their eyes it’s unfair that City spend more than the dippers and win many many many more trophies then it should also be unfair that the dippers spend much more than most of the rest of the PL to win their occasional trophyIt is so funny that people just ignore this point, even fans of the teams that have 'traditionally' spent the most and been owned by rich people, even if you said their investment was rich for the time and pales somewhat at the cost of modern football but at the time when 1m signings were not a thing they were spending big money on players.
None so blind as those that do not open their eyes to see the truth.
Fuck them, wankers all.
Stu Brennan is a great journalist. And all the more impressive in his writing on City as he is a self confessed United fan.Stuart Brennan reports fairly on City. Martin Samuel too, I think? I usually don't pay much attention to what the media have to say because it's usually tripe.
His writing is admirable because he is certainly swimming against the tide. Good for him.Stu Brennan is a great journalist. And all the more impressive in his writing on City as he is a self confessed United fan.
He’s not a happy clapper but he’s fair and that’s good enough for me.
I actually believe being around the club so much these days has turned him into a closet blue
Hilarious that Nick Harris thinks he's someone of any importance to the point Manchester City would give him access to their accounts. Accounts that have been scrutinised by recognised firms. From his smoking gun bollocks to his wanting of asterisks attached to City's trophies, he's proven himself a moron with little to no understanding - which is ironic when you consider his Twitter handle is sportingintelligence.
Ultimately the club will now feel that they're well within their rights for these kind of articles and inferences to be consigned to history. They've been to CAS who found zero proven allegations from Uefa, and they have accounts that have been scrutinised by some of the best firms in the world.
It's such wasted energy from the media when there's serious issues in football. But that what's drives clicks. Journalism is on its knees and generalising an entire fanbase is another comment from Harris that lacks intelligence.
