I'm not sure about that. Part of a player's value lies in his marketability, look at Pogba and our own Jack Grealish. The constant hyping of players by the media and denigration of others does, in my view, effect the value.

Of course it does. Media pours millions into attacking MCFC. Its reverse marketing. The business world has been doing it for decades and some people think it doesn't work? There is now a perception of MCFC but the flipside to this is that most City fans like being the rebel. City grew when we went to Division Two.
