Today's football news is not about City winning, it's about United losing.

If United had won, it would be about United winning, and nothing about City.

This is and will always be the reality of reporting about City and United after a Manchester derby.
The Fail's football page is leading with a string of articles about the rags including one about Ronaldo pissing off to Portugal on derby day.

Just watching that early kick off thing on sky sports news all about utd and how they give up after a good first half 12 mins they’ve talked so far( I switched off) about a team that got hammered with the odd bit about City dominating,is it any wonder sky are losing subscribers…
I'm watching Red Sports News now.

Showed the goals then RagDick. Moved onto discussing Liverpool's win and will they do the quadruple.

Now git Dermot supporting the Foden non penalty and Salahs offside goal. The resident dippers kicking off with the presenter for daring to call it offside.

I had that daft woman on Talk Sport. "You can't polish a turd". Like most of these callers she knew nothing whatsoever about football. "I'd play the reserves". What a clown. And the presenters acting like she's some kind of football genius for saying the team are shit.

Fuck me, I don't even support Man United and I know exactly what the problem is: poor management from the top for ten years. When you start to berate an entire squad you are talking rubbish.
It was 5 live I think, Chris Sutton? Dave small m u for them please! I have never heard a caller on one of these shite phone ins indulged so much before in terms of time and positive comments, she knew less about football management than Alan Ball

Caller after caller yesterday saying “x player isn’t a Manchester United player” and “come on, this is Manchester Utd we’re talking about”…. And?

You’re a football club, competing with 19 other clubs in the division and 92 in the football league in total. You don’t deserve anything unless you work hard and work smart to get it. United as a club aren’t entitled to the best players and best managers and trophies because you won stuff under one man for 20 years in the past.

City aren’t entitled to win stuff when Pep leaves, not unless we are incredibly clever and replace him with the right personnel.

United are no more entitled to win stuff than Newcastle or Burnley, that’s the beauty of competitive sport. you’re quite correct in saying their arrogance is part of their downfall. They sign a player on huge wages that City have vaguely been interested in and presume they’re going to score 30 goals a season or get them 15 clean sheets. It’s madness but long may it fucking continue.

I hear off rags less and less these days, they’re quietly depressed.
Their arrogance is their downfall. They seem to think that everything should be handed to them. Cunts.

The editing on motd was out of this world second half. No shots and showed their only two attempts to get up the field while not showing any of ours. I think they were gutted they had to show the 3 and 4.Watching the full match again,
The commentator also declared the 4th as being offside with some certainty. The highlights shown were ridicuosly short and completed missed out a potential penalty. Only a week before it seems half the programme was dedicated to a penalty that was not given. The furore went on for a week, yesterdays barely mentioned anywhere..

That girl was comedy gold
"It's not the manager's fault, it the coaches "
Well who's in charge of the coaching unless she meant the bus that got the rags to the stadium
She was the football equivalent of the drunken uncle at a wedding reception who gets hold of the microphone. Lol at Sutton saying Rag Nick should play a recording of her to the players, cunts would all be asleep, just like 4:30 til 6:30 yesterday

That was such a bizarre call. What she essentially argued was that roughly 60 players who've made an appearance for United since Ferguson left have all, at one time or another, downed tools to get a manager sacked. This has apparently happened to Ragnick, Solskjaer, Mourinho, Van Gaal, and Moyes over a period of 9 years.

Lol. Someone hasn't connected the dots.

Fucking media. Driving to the match the only reference to our game that we heard was that **** Schmeichel basically saying how the scum were going to win, how much he disliked us and had to pretend to be happy in the last derby at Maine Road. On the way back the kids were flipping between 5 live and talk shite, and it was 98% rags (a bit like our possession) all rag callers and all bar one with a London accent, the one being some ragess who 5 live gave a good 10 minutes to and she just kept saying the same shit shite, after which Chris Sutton said it was the best call in years - says a lot about Sutton’s opinion and 5 live callers. Then this morning on talk shite (the last hour that I’ve been driving) it was ALL about the rags nothing about us. We get nothing from these media cunts, the best football the PL has ever seen and the cunts obsess about a mid table pub team. PS I don’t want to be mean but how fucking thick is Jamie O’Hara? And now talk shite has that **** Jordan, so good at business he took his club into administration, I’m off to watch the recording of our game
If you called O'Hara a moron to his face he'd think it was a compliment. Touch of irony with Jordon always slagging our Arab owners when his surname is an Arab state.

I actually thought he was very 'low key' about the Liverpool offside decision in comparison to the Mahrez one. I'm not sure he really thought it was correct however, as ever, he'll stay on script.

The United inquest is in full flow on the BBC.

For once I don’t mind. Great reading.

Manchester United are a club and a team flattered by suggestions they are going nowhere - because the brutal truth is that Sunday's humiliation by Manchester City exposed the grim fact they are going backwards.

Manchester City's victory margin of 4-1 was also an act of flattery because the gulf between these two sides, and these two clubs, is now a chasm that should have been emphasised by a more painful scoreline.

As United's new chief executive Richard Arnold watched this embarrassment alongside the one-time laird of Old Trafford Sir Alex Ferguson, he could not have had a more graphic illustration of just how much work he has to do to get them anywhere near the club once scornfully referred to as "the noisy neighbours".

Arnold has inherited a once-proud institution that has as many cracks as cheap crockery, a club waiting for firm direction and leadership on how to drag them away from their current status as also-rans.
