You're right.....

But it'll go nowhere....

First sign of oil price relief: UAE says it wants OPEC to increase production

https://edition.cnn.com/2022/03/09/energy/oil-uae-production-increase/index.html

UAE, Saudi, even Venezuela, as far as the West is concerned, if you've got oil and are willing to up production you're everyone's best friend.

Stone being a dick as usual going on about prospective managers going 'due diligence' on future employers.
I'm sure all the rags managers did their research into the Glazers ways of taking money out of the club and of course what attitude will they take if Russia invades Ukraine.
The man's an utter clown. No sensible questions to ask so he talks bollocks. The City PR team should just cut him short..

That’s conspicuously not addressing the point he made.

The question is: are they?
The ties with the UK are historical. Formal agreements remain but the UAE is moving towards the non-aligned sector imo. That is addressing the point. They have joint operations with the USA, Russian, and South Korea over very high priority strategic projects.

I am confused as to why you think that means they i) are moving towards non-alignment, and ii) see themselves as part of Asia?

You’ve once again conspicuously failed to address the point.

Does the UAE currently have a subservient relationship with the UK?

I would describe the relationship with the UK as in decline because the UK is in decline as a world power. It does not make any sense for the UAE to continue this relationship. It will just die.

There will be more nonsence from the select group of Journalists around City & Newcastle. This has given their rhetoric abit more energy. Time to get the cheque book out. That Adam Crafton is a proper dick.
