Your last point is spot-on. The Deloitte figures suggest our global fanbase is now growing rapidly, especially in the USA. I think a lot of the media coverage on City is more measured these days, particularly overseas. There has always been a commercially-driven bias in favour of the best-supported clubs like LFC and MUFC and that will continue but you would have to be totally stupid not to spot a commercial opportunity in the success of the CFG which currently has the Champion clubs in India, USA, Australia and England. We are like the Amazon of the sports world. You may hate us but you can't ignore us.
You are 100% correct.
It’s been 10 years now, since the Aguero (93:20) moment. And still the lions share of media output can only be described as bitter anti City at best.

Yes, some have watered down their views, a realisation that the seeds planted by our owner and the management team, through the early days are not just green shoots, but healthy plants that have been providing fruits for a good number of years.
The expansion of the CFG, around the world can only increase exposure for Manchester City. With that comes all the commercial deals. City haven’t even scratched the surface of possibilities but have the best team working on it.

Those 10 years, they’ve passed so quick. Just think of all the kids out there in the world, who witnessed “that goal” the 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 year olds, they are now all teenagers.
They’ve witnessed the rise of City, and what a rise. All around the world City shirts are worn. The teams talked about now includes City.
Not just includes us, but acknowledged as the best team in world football.

You’d have to be a complete idiot! not to raise your sails now and catch the winds of change.

So here’s to the next 10 year’s, let the wind blow strong and the sky be blue.
To those who are too bitter and spiteful, FUCK YOU!

And the funny thing about Harris's somewhat desperate plea is that I understand at one stage, City considered him a reputable journalist as part of their media strategy and shared quite a lot with him. Yet he turned against us for some unknown reason so was excluded from the 'magic circle' who City felt were sensible and responsible journalists and who they were prepared to trust.

Did he sign exclusively to Qatar. I get my Harris’s mixed up, you could say I don’t know my Harris from my elbow.

Was Rob Harris the one who did the Qatar World Cup PR spin with Gary Neville where even when they criticised they made it look good. The narrative was we are asking the hard questions but really we are showing it’s great.

I find it mad that City ever considered him anything but a very run of the mill, average sports journalist.

Let's take a look @ his last two exclusives in the Daily Mail as an example:

- Another 'smoking gun' hacked email
- A piece built around an opinion poll

The first one around another 'smoking gun' email has already been done to death, namely by Der Speigel. Any credible person with experience on this matter would of told him that an email alone is not enough to lead to any sort of serious sanction being levied. It is what is acted upon, with relevant financial transactions following, proving said email was acted upon that would lead to such. The fact he chose to go with the angle he did shows he is more interested in sensationalist headlines, that generate clicks from legions of United & Liverpool fans.

The second one, in a similar vain to the above, was a piece written on the back of a survey that was quite clearly tainted with confirmation bias. Anyone who took the time to look at it could see what his final piece would look like, this is far from good journalism. In what world Twitter would ever constitute a good platform for information gathering on a subject like football club ownership, I don't know, but alas, he claims the key issue for fans on his survey is the appliance of FFP. He then negates to mention that Leicester City were charged by the EFL for failing it before promotion to the PL, Wolves are currently in a 2 year settlement with UEFA for failing it & Liverpool also failed it before qualifying for European competition again. In another angle he claims City's to be the most damaging ownership model in the eyes of other fans, but yet the 5th most admired? He then claims a City fan said a detractor of Sheikh Mansour's ownership was that we had 'cheated' which is quite clearly nonsense.

Some other side notes I've observed from him include, his view that City not appealing the CAS fine is evidence of their guilt. When pointed out to him this was for none cooperation with UEFA's investigation, rather than the charges themselves, he dismisses it. His referring to City fans who do not share his view that City have cheated FFP in derogatory terms, his breakdown of City relying on £1.7b of UAE sponsorship money over the last 10 years, dismissed by our own audited accounts. I could go on.

Carl Bernstein he is not.

I think he wrote the article as desired by his Editor.

Is his background as a journalist or a financial analyst? I wouldn't call him a journalist, but his knowledge of sports finance, or any business finance, seems to be pretty sketchy.

Anyone who bases an entire article on a random Twitter survey can't be taken seriously as a so-called "journalist." As far as I am aware Harris has no background or formal training as a journalist. He appears to have no concept of what is inolved in fair, accurate, and balanced reportage.
He is one of the many thousands of freelance social media operators who have emerged in recent years. That's not his fault. He is entitled to make a living any way he wishes. But it doesn't make him a credible source of unbiased information and the way he behaves on Twitter undermines his own reputation even more than the content he produces.

That's incorrect.

Call it bad timing by Yaya, a purpose decision, or the Dippers pulling a stunt prior the match?

Liverpool Echo. No link.

(Yaya) He then wrote: “Great to meet coach Klopp and watch the Liverpool squad training! Top manager and what a humble man, really enjoyed my time with you coach Klopp and the lads here today

(Yaya) He said: “Liverpool and [Manchester] City are separated by one point and they are going to fight until the end. I hope City will win it because I am City fan, but it’s so unpredictable and Liverpool are so, so strong.”

For all Yaya’s faults and mishaps, for want of a better word, he played for City, busted a gut for City, scored some amazing goals for City, won trophies for City, was loved and liked by the fans on the terraces a City, and (still) supports City.

The fact that the fans still sing about Yaya and Kolo is testament to his on-going popularity on the terraces.
Of course everything Ya Ya has said will have been twisted and distorted and I am sure he still loves City. But he has become cannon-fodder for the press. Surely by now he has learned his lesson. He claims that he wants to become a Manager but every daft interview he (or is agent) does confirms that he will never make a Manager. It's a shame because he was a genius on the field but football is littered with great players who won't be good managers. Look at the state of Wayne Rooney's latest utterings.

Sky reporting there is no potential for the Superleague to be revived.
starts off with 2 clips of us, one flag with traitors on it , one with shame on you, banner at Dippers and mentions owners of us, Liverpool and Chelsea backtracked. Making it look like we were the main club involved.
no mention of any other team involved or we were the 1st to walk away.
Up Rags arse as usual with zero mention of them or the others involved

Shame he didn’t take his birthday cake and shove it in Klopp’s mush …!

Watching a documentary last night HMP Wakefield.
Yes it isn't called Monster Mansion for nothing, as it houses the EFFIN scurge of society.
But I couldn't help notice how the media have helped keep Charlie Bronson in for so long, with over elaborate lies about him to sell their papers, that must of effected parole boards decisions in the past.
Even the nonce killer who is permanently in solitary confinement in Wakefield was dubbed a cannibal by the press as he had eaten a victims brain they said.
When in fact he had just killed them with a sharp implement through their ear, and hadn't eaten anything.
Basically the media can and will write absolute lies for a receptive audience without a moments hesitation.
What a horrible stinking low life career it must be..... to be a certain type of journalist
Just, wow.

Just a piffling little detail, I guess :)
