Rodri had a decent game but was not even the best defensive midfielder on the pitch. People marvel at players like Messi because they can produce something out of the ordinary and change the direction of a game. He did the one thing tonight none of our players could not do, for all their attempts, which is find the back of the net.
Can’t argue with that, goals are what the game is all about but for me Keown’s praise of Messi tonight is akin to the idiotic modem tendency of virtually always awarding man of the match to whoever scored the goal.

Sometimes even a marvellous goal can’t wholly overshadow a mediocre performance. I’ve rarely seen the great man look so anonymous as he did tonight.

I followed the media closely this weekend.
When the Chavs beat Spuds last week it was analysis after analysis by the media, This weekend we were 3rd on MOTD (the current Premier League holders v Champions League winners) yeah that's right ON 3rd!
BBC 5 Live Monday night club; Analysis of Arsenal v Spurs and we got a couple of minutes at the end, just as Palace v Brighton was about to start.

However we lose in PSG (to a Messi masterclass apparently!!!!!!!!!!) and we're the main gig again!!!!!!!!!

Blues stay away from the regular newspapers or any coverage in the MSM for a few days. It’s not worth the mental hassle.

Anyone who watched the PSG game can see how panned put. If we had a few clinical players we win that 4-2.

Apart from here I won’t read a thing.

Give it a try. Fuck em.
Should’ve read your advice before clicking on the guardian’s player ratings. Made it seemed like it was a one horse race “Laporte struggled”. Clicking on it probably gave me the answer why…

The same the week before .... only made back page headlines when we drew with Southampton.

All that drooling whenever PSG were in possession was doing my head in. No credit whatsoever for City during our periods of pressure.
At one point City had the ball for nearly 10 minutes in the first half and were attacking over and over again. PSG got the ball back eventually and moved into our half and Keown announces 'Ohhhhhh PSG are really starting to flow now'. It was nauseating.
