Makes the £28 million(over-reported in the press because Atletico did bad business on the release clause) for Aguero look like a steal.
They also paid £32.5m(transfermrkt says £42m oddly, possibly means with bonuses?) for Benteke in 2015, which was worse than City's Bony signing for £25m(£28m with bonuses) especially considering the latter was a January signing. How Liverpool managed to recoup so much of what they paid in comparison(£28m vs £12m), considering he was worse, remains suspect to me.
Transfermarkt is based on the euro values at the time of transfer. As exchange rates vary, so does the £ price listed today - it's a live £ that will change each day.
It's why crap media will report higher transfer fees than were quotes at the time.
Using the exchange rates of the day and now, Benteke's 32.5M would be about 39M. Not exactly the 42M quoted, but much closer. Not sure what the difference would be down to.
