Whilst the press may be racist, and there are journalists with allegiances to teams in red, the modern reporting is solely down to clicks and engagement.

Positive City stories get no traction. Negatives ones do. That is never gonna change so we have to get our heads around it.

It was leaked recently that Reach journos will be solely assessed on clicks an interactions with targets based on this.

Its a changing landscape where you get a halfwit like Samuel Luckhurst having 350,000 followers on Twitter whilst working for a regional paper that has a circulation of 20k.

People saying it will change in time are deluded. It’ll get worse with virtually no balance for any lesser teams. Journalism is easier to assess by their beancounters than ever before - and they can now see in minutes the success of pro red article or snide City piece.

Chris Latchem the sports reporter on BBC 5 live commented on this this morning. He said to Rick Edwards that they have predicted Liverpool to win the league by a point, and he said “wouldn’t that be good”. I thought they were supposed to be unbiased on the BBC.
It's all in your head, he means a close finish would be good......that's what he'd say if pulled on it.

The difference is that some of our commercial rivals have orchestrated a posionous campaign against our club and they are pushing against an open door because so many people in the media are so willing to believe bad things about our owner (because of his ethnic heritage).
There is a big market for people like Simon Jordan who has used phrases in public such as:"I don't like the way those people do business" or referred to "dirty oil money." People know what he is trying to say. I wonder what he says about City's owner in private.
It is easy to exploit racial hatred packaged as something else. I don't know much about the horseracing industry but perhaps no one in that industry wants to rock the boat and risk future investment.
Great post mate,if the money from the Abu Dhabi was withdrawn then the horse industry and especially Newmarket would go tits up big....sponsorships,jobs the whole industry would be in serious trouble...I've never heard about the money pumped in to the industry or any other sports, golf, cricket, tennis etc being brought up but it's a pile on when it's Manchester City.....parasites and scum are the media in this country and I love being a city supporter so fuck the lot of them......

Then the media have no right to complain about freedom of the press being eroded when they continually mislead the public to suit their agenda. This applies to the front page stories every bit as much as it does to the back page and the BBC and Sky news are equally complicit with the lies and deceit. Maybe one day the nuggets taking in this stuff will wake up and see what these corporations are doing will affect their lives more than they could ever realise.

I think this is often true but is actually a get out of jail free card. I had the misfortune to click on the Grauniad and their 10 things to look out for this weekend. By definition, you’ve already clicked on it and there is nothing else to ‘click on to’. And yet, with the stink of Glendenning everywhere, you get this thoroughly cliched bollox.

City need to be built up for el gasico

Even before their midweek Champions League defeat at the Bernabéu, Manchester City’s home match against resurgent Newcastle looked one of the more likely banana skins on their top-flight run-in. Until, that is, you examined Eddie Howe’s record against Pep Guardiola – a miserable 11 defeats from 11 with an aggregate score of 34-5. All but one of those losses occurred before Wor Eddie joined Pep in the managerial ranks of the nation state-owned sportswashing vehicles, only to lose his first el gasico derby in December.

Isn't that bollox from the Irish Examiner? It's just a dipper fanzine as far as football goes, pay it no mind whatsoever, you might as well get upset about idiots on rawk.
