Re the MEN and Reach. Last stats I read confirmed, that like almost every other Regional, the physical paper numbers were dramatically reduced.
But the MUEN remains one of the most popular regional press websites, bigger that the London Evening Standard, with some 650k unique browsers per day. That’s a lot of clicks.

Resist their bait titles and don’t post the links encouraging other mooners to login. It’s all biased second rate shit. Buy a coffee once in a while.
By far the biggest segment on the MEN website are overseas United fans but the problem is it is difficult for a regional brand to monetise them because advertisers will only pay up if they can see a direct response to their adverts. The website, despite its big audience, still provides less than 20 per cent of their revenues. Their long-term commercial strategy is pretty stupid. Clickbait content will lead them to a dead end.

What a Premier league champion with a Premier league medal yes some shit season he's had
It’s funny how Grealish used to be a great player and is now a flop.

Haaland used to be a great player and now he’s tipped to be another Lakaku or not as good as everyone first thought lol

it doesn’t seem to take much for the media to influence peoples perceptions

I bet he's unemployed now.
Nah. The Spectator is a relatively right wing libertarian weekly that doesn’t rely on clicks. A few up market advertisers but subscriptions and one off sales are its main source of income.
It is no friend of Liverpool, the city, with whom it fell out
over an inaccurate mention of Hillsborough numbers in an article when Boris was the editor.

I think the way Klopp hits back at the press is actually one of his redeeming qualities.
I agree, we moan at the press for asking Pep stupid questions and generally shit stirring yet when one of our rivals does it's frowned upon. Well done Bingo, the more managers react, we might actually see those wankers like Sterling actually do their job properly. He's a terrible reporter always looking to get a rise out of managers.

I hope they drop the Haaland interview this week on Saturday/Sunday
This would be ideal.
A lot of people were critical of Sky etc for covering the Ten Haag interview but, in fairness, United haven't yet sank to the stage where the introduction of their new manager isn't world news. Say what you like about the rags but their PR department is top of the range. They knew exactly what they were doing in arranging that first interview when they did. Particularly, given the two clubs who could have won the league last Sunday, it was a win-win distraction tactic for that lot.
Equally, we have nothing to lose and everything to gain by unveiling one of the most sought-after young players in the world say, this Sunday.
Somehow, I don't think we will though. Rightly or wrongly, our owners seem steadfastly intent on taking the high road when it comes to media manipulation.

It's the only way.

The moment we even looked like we were trying to manipulate the media to our advantage we'd be jumped on with a lack of self awareness beyond belief from the very journalists who find themselves being regularly used to the advantage of the Rag's/Dipper's PR departments.

@projectriver is the second comment not libellous? Nick Harris knows full well that it was not City who were "asking a pedophile to gaslight his victims" but instead a barrister hired by an insurance company.
Probably not libel but it is certainly in bad faith. I doubt City had *any* control in how the insurer's legal team handled the claim - suspect the policy has a litigation conduct clause which cedes all control of the case to the insurer. Be very surprised if City thought this was a good idea. Staggered the insurers did.

A shame it has taken a Tory rag like the Spectator, that has a long history of antipathy towards Merseyside, to say what needed saying about Bingo’s mask slipping. Nobody will listen as a result of the source
They do have some brass-necked gall though.
Wasn’t it while working at the Spectator that the fly-tipped sofa currently stinking out 10 Downing Street plotted with his mate Guppy to have a journalist beaten up?
A few snarky answers in a football press conference seem pretty mild in comparison to that, tbf
