There you have it.

When I watch other Premier League games all I see is hoofball, three or four passes strung together then it all breaks down, one dimensional play with one dimensional players. I watched as much as I could tolerate of a dire rag game the other day, I can't remember which one, forget blue tinted specs it was awful at every level.

Liverpool are the best of the rest, but the gulf in class between us and them is immense.

I watched WHU v Leeds it was an enjoyable game lots if goals but technically poor. I am right at the end a WHU player cheated the ball over the bar from about a yard out lol if he had scored it would have been 3-3

For a neutral watching City games might be boring. We've won 18 out of 22 league games. If we are winning we play at 75% and go into game management mode. I get the criticism of the one-sided nature of the Premier League but it was invented this way for good reason and not by us and those who criticise City's dominance said little when Man Utd was the boss.

As a Manchester city fan I am happy with the way things are. As a football fan less so. The game was healthier when Forest could get promoted and win the league and when the league title moved from one club to another. The move to consolidation started with the Premier League and we all know who were the prime movers of that.

This 100% - Chelsea should be getting destroyed by the media- champions of Europe (apparently), very expensively assembled and title challengers, yet they set up and played like relegation candidates. City games where teams come to attack are as exciting and technically brilliant as anything seen in this league.
The narrative has been set to ‘boring‘ as they are too scared of losing revenue by attacking their cartel clubs. They have nowhere else to turn.

"Unfortunately", we are so good that most teams do a variation on the same thing(s): park the bus in some form, try and nick the ball and break on us, hope for a set piece break through... It occassionally works.

Can't recall anyone trying to really take us on and winning.

This can create a bit of an issue spectacle wise (for some); especially if City fluff their early chances.

One of my mantras for at least the last 12 months has been: it's not City that are boring, it's their opponents.
Very much agree with your mantras. Exactly how I see it. It’s not us that park the bus or try and wait for an opponents mistake. Pretty much what Chelsea did (was like watching a Mourinho side) and they got what they deserve.

I find it baffling that the team that tries to play football for years and years is actually being ignored as being bored

5 different winners in the last 10 years including Leicester demonstrates that those days are not completely gone. Most decades are dominated by a single club with maybe just the 1950s and 1960s as exceptions. It is certainly much more competitive here than La Liga with 3 different winners in 10 years, Ligue 1 also with 3 (7 with one club) and both the Bundesliga and Serie A with 2 (each including 9 consecutive wins by one club).

I’ve described watching us like Cirque du Soleil, the circus in the past was clowns & acrobats & all very skilled & entertaining then along comes high risk showmanship doing things that seem impossible, oozing confidence not just putting on a show but risking it all to push the boundaries.

How many people have told Pep you can’t, not here, give up & hoof.
They complain of our pass, pass, pass but one bad touch, one bobble, one scuffed pass & we lose a goal. I marvel at its beauty, it’s confidence & we see Swindon try it & they blame the keeper for having a go. It’s not boring but if they strive for imperfection then go & see a juggler who drops his balls.

Here’s a few points from me.

1. As a Stretford Blue, I do t get all this self-pitying guff. You had to give the rags as good as yku git on a daily basis.

2. Countless peole have bemoaned the Club being “soft” on an anti City media. The Club were straight on to Beglin, effectively forcing an apology, but I’ve seen little credit for thst action. Personally, I think there are too many apologies around eg Harry Maguire apologises for most rag non performances.

3. Take a step back and have a good laugh at some of the media bias. Here’s a modern classic.

Has that know nowt lost his job yet?

He should have.

I would definitely prefer a top 10 or 12 rather than a top 4 as it used to be.
Its not that we have or spent more money. So it’s up to the other teams to find a solution to keep up other than parking the bus when playing us.

From 1972/73 to 1991/92 (20 seasons) which was the last season before the PL was formed, dippers won the title 11 times and finished second seven times. During this time they had two back to back wins and one three times on the trot. Nobody moaned.
From 1992/93 to 2010 /11 (19 seasons) the scum won the title 12 times, finished second four times and third three times. twice won back to back and twice won it three times on the trot. In the preceding 20 seasons they had finished second three times and third three times so hardly what you call successful during that time which would then lead to all the titles. I wonder how they achieved their success. Nobody moaned.
From 2011 / 12 until now (10 seasons not including this one) due to investment in the club we have won the league five times, finished second three times and third twice. Now every fucker is moaning.
Between the three red shirted teams they have accumulated 52 titles and 40 runners up places, no fucker moans.

Watch the football from the 90s and early 00's, its kick and rush with two fast wingers and a target man with a clogger in the middle of the park and in defence. Citys football is a thing of utter beauty and unfortuantly we will probably only appreciate how good it is when we look back on it in years to come. Idiots saying football is boring well yes for them as their teams are not at the top anymore. For me the 90s and 00s were boring as nited won everything. Klopp and the dippers are a throw back to the kick and rush era and Pep and City being so far ahead shows how City have evolved as both a Club and team to set the new standards while the dippers have just stood still hence why they are way behind City.

Remember a European cup final( not sure who the dippers were playing) and tommy smith said we had to do an ale house ball to score because we couldn’t play through the oppos defense. So nothing new there then.

Exactly. These teams who set out to be negative from the start never get any criticism for so doing. They put their plan on full display from the start with the goalie deliberately wasting time from the very first goal kick, wasting time quite literally and often from the first minute and it continues because although the whole crowd notices it the ref doesn't. A yellow card would stop that tactic for the next 89 minutes.
Then at the other end the last 10 minutes see several feigned injuries taking ages to treat to protect a point sometimes three. People look at their watches seeing their trains leaving as they hang on to see some one faking it on the deck like a pork actress. Or they leave and some dick of a commentator takes the piss when he really should be criticising the deliberate time wasting that causes it.

Ps the spell check put in 'pork' instead of porn so l left it as it cheered me up on a cold morning

Where I sit we sometimes play a guessing game as to when the ref will yellow card the opposing keeper; no one ever goes with a number below 80..

Hope all is well.

Too many people just do not want to give City due credit. It might take a generation to change that but if we continue to be run as well as we have been, the tide will change.

Maybe the medias 'Boring' narrative is more sinister than we think and driving some other agenda like a draft style system, who knows??

And why don't Sky/BT just show bottom half of table clashes as their main event if we are so fucking boring!!

Maybe a super league is not such a bad idea after all?

It's hypocrisy of the highest order mate. If Pep had rocked up to manage the Rags or the victims and was sweeping all before him, they'd all be swooning over him saying how he'd changed English football forever, how he compared to Slur Alex, Shankly, Paisley, Clough and the like. They'd be glorifying his team as the best the country has ever seen, they will dominate for years (without that being an issue) and have put his team back at the top where they belong.

Instead, he came to manage us and it's all boring football, one team league and the media and it's lickspittles hoping he pisses off soon as there is no competition anymore. Constantly bigging teams up who they see as a threat as the saviours of English football and how they are about to end our dominance, only to get all bitchy about us as these teams fall by the wayside. Negative press conferences, headlines and biased one sided commentaries on our games which always seem to be urging our opposition on to beat us, regardless of the country they come from.

I'm convinced Pep sees the snidey bastards for what they are and treats them with the contempt they deserve whilst also using their bullshit to motivate himself and his team. He's only 51 and for me I don't think there's another club on the planet that can give him what we can and therefore I hope and pray he signs a 3 year extension on top of his current deal.

10 years or more of Pep at City would be exactly what these arseholes deserve.

I just think it's an agenda to discredit our achievements. Natalie Sawyer asked Slackjaw Jordan yesterday, if the Premier league season has been tainted by COVID-19 postponements. We know where that particular topic is heading, although I didn't hear his response, as I swiftly pressed the off button. Glendening on Sunday was telling all and sundry how boring Saturdays game was, then admitted he watched the game live and watched the highlights later. Why would he watch the highlights if it was so boring? I thought he would have been too busy sending dick pics to unsuspecting young ladies.

Lol, how predictable our unfit for purpose, jealous, grubby sports media are.

The narratives the salivating arseholes will leap upon to discredit us are just totally disingenuous and biased.
A couple of season's ago you couldn't read an article without mention of our "tactical" fouls after the ridiculous Ratboy thought he was a serious pundit highlighting something new, that no other team (his included - Scholsey, Keane, Ince, etc etc etc) had ever done.
Now the greatest football on top-flight record is "boring"! These c*nts really shouldn't be in a job if they can't appreciate what they're seeing.
I'm sure the Spanish press weren't calling Barcelona and R Madrid boring when they were at the height of their powers.
