Broadcast revenues PLUS the total collapse in matchday due to Covid.

All the teams above us in last years Rich List had matchday revenues that were much higher - Barca's were £110m compared to our £41m.

Even Liverpool have nearly double our match day revenue, probably because this "community club" have ridiculously low season ticket numbers and instead sell most of their tickets at much higher one off prices.

A nice foundation for next year's "City displaced by red hordes" stories.

Well I do look forward to seeing what Gary’s expertise will be on next week when it comes to City… As other’s have mentioned, his links to Lim and Lim’s bankrolling of Salford is perhaps not too dissimilar to the accusations he throws at City. One rule for him, one rule for the rest it seems. He’s a politician alright

I haven't had many problems with Evertonians over the years.

Most stemmed from the FA Cup QF in 1966. That went to two replays before Everton won 2-0 at Molineux. The first match at Maine Road (0-0) passed without major incident despite a 63,034 full house. The replay at Goodison was also 0-0 with a crowd of 60,349.

There were incidents with City supporters throwing cushions from the upper tier of the stand at the Everton fans below. We were on the upper tier and seeing a group of angry Everton supporters waiting at the bottom of the stairs, we reacted by walking down the stairs chanting Everton, Everton!

The second replay at Wolves attracted a decent crowd of 27,948. The Cup was not really a priority for City that season with promotion being the main objective. City had already had replays with Blackpool in the Third Round and Leicester City in the Fifth Round, so three Cup matches against Everton was not ideal preparation for the run-in.

Everton were due to play United in the SF. Leaving Molineux, we saw a group of Everton fans and wished them well in the match against United. They told me to piss off! I will not do that again.

Everton eliminated United in the SF and then went on to come from 2-0 down to beat Sheffield Wednesday 3-2 in the Final with an unlikely two goals from the 21 year old Mike Trebilcock. He only played 11 League games for Everton and scored three League goals before moving on to Portsmouth, Torquay, Yeovil, and Weymouth.
A mate of mine in the early 70s was an Evertonian from Maghull, and was at that final. He said that he started screaming for the winning goal as soon as Shirley (Temple) got the ball, as he knew he wouldn't miss!
The only cup match I missed that season was the second replay, as I was otherwise engaged. I was onstage at the Free Trade Hall as a member of the Lancashire County Youth Choir when the match was played, and, as luck would have it, the lad next to me was an Everton fan. The choir was composed of kids from several Lanky grammar schools.
Fifty odd years ago, and I still remember it.

Isn't what Neville said slander?

Pretty much accused City of cheating financially.
I think Neville's comments (if accurately reported) leave him open to a possible legal action for defamation. Posing his comments as a question makes no difference in legal terms. He has essentially accused city's accountants and directors of false accounting. The fact he hasn't named anyone also makes no difference (in fact it could open him up to multiple actions from numerous parties)
If the club decided to sue Neville then the burden would be on Nevillle to prove what he has said is true. Good luck with that one.
I have always thought City should pick their legal battles carefully. But personally I think this would be one worth fighting, not least because Neville may be considering running as Mayor of Greater Manchester. If his comments are accurate then he's a liar and needs to be challenged in public on what he has said.

He is getting in the mode of an mp with the lying now.

False accounting is a criminal offence. Neville has essentially accused the senior Directors at City and our accountants of being criminals on a public forum (if he has been reported correctly). If you made comments like that about any major organisation you would face legal action.
There has to be a point at which our club stands up to this relentless malicious campaign. It is not just a smear against our owner it is a slur against the hundreds of decent people who work for City. Neville is truly disgusting. Even UEFA confirmed our sponsorships were "market value." We were never accused of "inflating our sponsor figures" despite the numerous false stories in the media using this phrase. The UEFA accusation (compehensively dismissed by three Judges) was that some of the sponsor funding may have come directly from the UAE state. I am sick of the way coverage of our finances is being distorted by our commercial rivals and their media pals.

Totally agree and maybe if we take Neville on with this win it will shut a few up in the Media.

When we as a club let so much go in the media those lies will keep coming they’ll keep pushing more lies.

We will do nothing as per usual.

Couldn't agree more, I am utterly sick of this now. FFS City, a line has to be drawn, it is way overdue.
If the reporting on Neville's ill informed bollocks is true, legal action needs to be taken. This has gone way too far.

Just yet another completely one-eyed City hating journalist, who cant even spot the irony and hypocrisy of his own statements

… bear in mind he has a picture of his currrent footballer ‘crush’ on his Twitter profile, who happens to play for a red Bavarian team… the ones who have 3 ex/current directors of major German brands who happen to sponsor them… at vastly and presumably‘overinflated’ rates.
He is a plastic Dipper from Birmingham

There is no point going after small online operators and cowboys because it makes you look like a bully and they don't have deep pockets anyway so there is little reward. But Neville has a large audience, especially on SKY Sports, and is a wealthy individual.
In the UK the defendant in a civil case has to prove the truth of what he has said (opposite to criminal cases) If he can't prove what he has alleged then the case is almost always won by the party which launched the action. Neville's only action would be a public apology unless he wanted to be destroyed finanacially by damages and costs. There has to be a line in the sand. Neville has left himself wide open. He can't even claim it is just his personal opinion because it has be based on facts.

Im not sure Neville in amongst all the shit we deal with on a weekly basis these days is the right person to be going after. A lot have said far worse and media storm that would cause would far outweigh any positives it brought.

Maybe we have to email city with this because they seem oblivious to any social media or what anyone says about our club.

There was a reporter on talksport years back regarding David Silva think a lot of city fans got in touch with city to complain and that’s what city did something.

As most of our income comes from huge TV revenue you’d think that a **** who works in the industry might just fucking know.

I say sue him & take him down & make this his after playing Goater moment, all he had to do was let it go.

John Dillon. He said City were using the serious illness of David Silva’s son to deflect from negative media coverage.
Forced into a grovelling apology afterwards

Getting a public apology from Neville for his false claims would be positive for City's reputation. He is a high-profile person who wants to enter politics. He hasn't got a leg to stand on (if his comments have been reported accurately). This is different to the daily tittle-tattle we see from freelances and fan websites on Twitter. He is exactly the sort of person we should be going after. If we ignore it people will think his comments are true and we have something to hide.

Yep, I agree.
What the club probably don't understand is how this affects fans. I personally feel obliged to defend the club I love from this utter horse shit. I have had stand up arguments with people, social media is full of it.
It's getting worse and more hostile very day.
