As has been said, we should give one of these media groups such a kicking that the others fall into line. One of the major issues is continually describing us as 'state owned' when all the documentation shows that ADUG is owned by an individual and CFG, which does actually 'own' City, has three major shareholders.
We're never going to stop people calling us state owned because no one believes we are privately owned, not even you.
"effectively we're owned by Sheikh Mohammed & the Executive Council. There's simply no way Khaldoon & Simon Pearce would be involved so heavily if weren't. Anyone who thinks otherwise is astoundingly naive."
.... we are now very much an arm of the Abu Dhabi government, albeit what's known as a soft one in diplomatic terms."
I'm sure you don't need to guess who I'm quoting there...
It's a completely lost cause, we can't stop it, and I'm not convinced a legal challenge would succeed in anything other than shining a light on just how non-independent we actually are.
If the club wanted to oppose the notion of us being state-owned, they should start playing up the role of Silverlake, but we never hear about them really, they are completely silent and 99% of people outside the fanbase wouldn't know we were associated at all.
But perhaps the most important question is "Do the club care?". I'm not sure Khaldoon and Sheikh Mansour and other ADUG higher ups see being that associated with Abu Dhabi as a bad thing.
