If the media have the audacity to attach our name to the Boateng story I simply shudder at the thought of what will happen when Mendy goes in front of the big wig.
It will be a media dream scenario and I’m not sure there will be sufficient mud for us to be dragged though.
The coverage of Mendy's case will be shaped on how much City knew about the allegations when they continued to play him and use him for events in the community. It could be very difficult for the club but we don't know the full story yet.

Rubbish. Allegations are not the same as being charged.

Warts and All - " ...must not airbrush his darker side"

From The Times, 1 Sept. 2021 - " Nobody wished to risk destabilising the gravy train — not the United board, and certainly not the Premier League hierarchy."

The writer of this piece attempts to bring some balance to the media coverage of the cult of celebrity currently engulfing the out of towners and, whilst the forced, illegal postponement of the first ever Premier League match was covered up under a big red carpet now emblazoned with CR7 and available for sale in China, there is a little more perspective for once from this particular journalist.

"For years Ferguson defied his contractual obligation to provide post-match interviews to the BBC, banned journalists whose copy he didn’t like from the Old Trafford media room and impugned the integrity of referees and fixture compilers whose decisions he didn’t like."

Whilst this is well known, the writer notes, " At the moment, these stories are not newsworthy". They have largely been lost in a " rose-tinted parody of a football manager."

In our lifetimes though, warts and all will be revealed.

It’s often conveniently forgotten that he refused to speak to the BBC because they told the truth about his son.

If a Bank Manager was accused of rape he would be suspended on full pay pending the outcome of the investigation. I am well aware of the difference between allegations and charges and am also well aware of employment law. The primary responsibility of an employer is to protect the welfare of its staff (including Mendy) and that overrides everything. If a teacher was accused of murder or rape would he remain in the classroom while the police carried out the investigation?

But the primary responsibility of a school is to protect its pupils. You’re comparing apples with oranges bud

For those who haven't had their daily dose of Dion Dublin today, he's after popping up on Celebrity Masterchef.

The off-field corruption continues unchecked.

Gill, Ferguson, Ole, Woodward having a nice chat in the Ivy according to the mail.

We are up against it from all corners.

In the decade or so since Boateng left City I wonder how many times, before this week, the Sun has referred to him as “former Man City star”?

In round figures, of course…
When his ex killed herself he was Bayern Munich, can’t say I look at the sun too often though

The Daily United Fanzine have updated their earlier Boateng article on their online main news front page.

Manchester City highlighted on 'blue' in the small print. No mention of Bayern Munich in the updated article.

I can't decide who I loath the most, Ferguson or Gill?(you Rag b@stard!)

Gill just about shades it for trying to destroy City from with-in the red shirts, and from with-in UEFA.(Gill is UEFA's treasurer)

Ferguson, Gill and Woodward are all still board members at United as far as I can recall, so it’s not really that noteworthy.

Can’t really have a word when they’ve stated a fact can they?

Correct.

Stretching the fact.

Boetang's career at City lasted 22 games.

Boetang's career at Bayern lasted 10 years. He played 229 games.

Leeky has a valid point.

F*cking outrages Journalisam.

Either of the 3 Daily United journalits who contributed to the updated article will get away with it, so will the Daily United, because as you rightly pointed out, it is a fact Boetang played for City 22 times.
