Sterling now gone with the same media people as Rashford.

As an aside, he is definitely leaving.
Good.
Only had to look at his clear and obvious back heals whilst running forward and coming to a complete stop when on a counter to work out his heads gone.
Biggest task now is let’s hope Pep continues to not pick him anymore for crucial matches. First good sign of that was before the international break with him not starting against the scousers.

I can’t see him going anywhere. He won’t want to drop down a class and also wont want a wage drop. Rules out many if not all of the possible destinations for him.

Aah, the view from the moral high ground of Merseyside. Pure as the driven snow, organic growth, never needed investment, everything paid for by the cheapest fan friendly tickets around (and the Coutinho money). Sponsored by companies with the highest corporate responsibility credentials, as long as you ignore the laundered $250billion of Iranian money and that the bank is pretty much owned by the Singapore government. Perhaps he’s panicking. Knows we were a level above a couple of weeks ago, got lucky then after not getting the points against a 10 man Chelsea a few games earlier and knows that his team is coming to the end of its cycle without the cash to get back up quickly again before Newcastle join the party in two years or so. Never mind Juergen, you could also ask Masters if he’d also be kind enough to ask the FSG what they do with Liverpool’s profits
As with other Blues who point out these things, especially the financial matters, good post.

I'm still waiting for some media-johnny to grow the cojones sufficiently enough to ask Liverpool where the money's gone and continues to go as they enjoy the Premier League/Champions League junket.

Oh, btw, the media might also ask the same questions of that shower across town, Arsenal and several others dotted around Europe who have been taking potshots at us for more than a decade now.

I'm not holding my breath..

Klopp trying to influence the court of public opinion with his “state” jibe. It will work and the world of football will once again ignore the huge debt saddled on clubs and the human atrocities in all countries not just the Middle East.

We can’t win this war unless we start to play…

Yes. The rags are now twats at every level.
You've obviously not watched them long enough. There's been no real change in their behaviour since I were a lad. I would say some time after early 1958 their attitudes changed, starting with injured players, unable to play because of their injuries, being thrown out of their club-owned houses.
They've been twats for as long as I can remember.

Bingo banging on again about the injustice of everything whilst being blind to the untold shit the disgusting club he manages has caused for the best part of 40 years is laughable..

The good news for every football fan in the country apart from their blameless, out of control, bus wrecking, firework throwing, spitting fans is that the dipper cycle is nearing its end..

The Egyptian diver, Mane, Matip, the water carrier, Judas, Firmino and dick van dyke are all into their 4th decade.

Bingo will be off season after next, if not sooner, along with most of the above.

Then FSG will no doubt not want to be investing a £billion plus into the dippers to keep them relevant

Us, Newcastle and Chelsea are the future of the PL which is why the likes of the dippers, rags, tarquins and spuds are constantly in the media whinging like fcuk..

They can see what's coming.

I'd hazard a guess that the day the dippers crawl back under their stone cannot come quick enough for the genuine football fan..!

Think Salah if he stays and mane have at least 3 more season at there pace! Klopp been there that long he now simulated into a full blown Scouser maybe he will stay longer too!

Yes l am well aware of United over the decades particularly with their action(or non actions) following Munich. Things like Brennan and Giles squirting piss from water pistols at women, Robson being revered despite being a real piss artist and playing away a mile or so away from home. Even Denis Law kicking a player who was flat out on the ground and being defended as being 'exuberant'. A goalie who bared his arse at the City fans in the Scoreboard End. I could go on and often do. But l just think Macari was one of the better ones although no angel.

Everything covered by the BBC is seen through a highly-selective filter. The choice of content is driven by a relatively small group of (mostly London-based) people who see the world a different way to most people in the UK.
I met the Director General of the BBC once at a function (long story) and I challenged him on the patronising concept of BBC Regions (a small department supposed to cater for people outside London). I said that I was one of the huge majority of 50 million people who didn't live in Greater London and we were the ones whose views were mostly being excluded. It is not a North/South divide but a North London/the rest of the UK divide.
I think it's fair to point out that the BBC has done a great deal to address this matter - moving departments has changed the outlook considerably and BBC breakfast time in particular has become a voice for "levelling up". I believe the BBC also wanted to move news and current affairs coverage from London to Salford but government pressure forced the abandonment of this plan. Certainly the policy makers at the BBC realised that its "metropolitan viewpoint" was alienating the vast majority of the non-metropolitan public. The irony is that when we complain about favourable coverage and bias in football it is essentially the exceptionally sympathetic coverage of two north west clubs (we all know who!) that is so sickening. And this is something the BBC has in common with the rest of "the media".

I’m struggling to see to where at the moment. Of those destinations that aren’t an active step down, the Spanish clubs are potless, the dippers would be an impossibility for obvious reasons, the rags already have Sancho, Rashford and the lady boy filling his preferred role and have other priorities anyway, which leaves who? Chelsea? Bayern?
If we‘ve learned one thing about Raheem over the last 3 or 4 years, it’s that he has very specific attributes and very specific weaknesses, and whilst Rio Ferdinand and some on this forum, don’t seem to want to acknowledge the existence of the latter, I’m not convinced any perspective clubs’ recruitment teams will…..unless they’re getting an absolute steal in respect of the asking price.
What would constitute an acceptable offer in the summer for a seasoned England international, who’s still only going to be 27? £50m, £60m, £70m, £80m? I’m not sure in the current Covid affected financial climate that we’d get such an offer from a club Raz would want to move to (ie offering Champions League football and guaranteed playing time). We barely scraped £40m for Leroy.
Personally, and despite what I view (rightly or wrongly) as relative shortcomings in his game, I’d still be sorry to see him go. He’s peak age, he’s English, he’s quick, he times his runs superbly, he has the ability to make things happen, he occupies opponents, and he very much affords us variety. On a good day (Liverpool away last season) he’s capable of shredding decent full backs, but on a bad day (United at home last season) he looks like a park player. If he was playing for any other team he’d probably be more universally appreciated, but in this current City team surrounded by players whose touch is exquisite (Bernie, Foden, Mahrez in particular), that lack of consistency is perhaps marking him out and making him the subject of unrealistic levels of criticism.
Whatever, I think he may be here for the remainder of his existing contract yet, for the reasons stated, and I think he may need to consider a step down if he wants guaranteed playing time, cos given his form for the last 18 months in comparison to what he was bringing to the party prior to that, a suitable offer for both player and club might not be forthcoming

Totally agree. Problem his that in the background is the elephant in the room “the super league “. The red tops will in my opinion push like fook to get this enabled purely for the revenue it will generate and save their bacon.

I'd guess it was phrased along the lines of "Joe Gomez wasn't picked for the squad because he hadn't played much, but John Stones was selected and played both games? Is that upsetting Gomez?"

Standard redtop m.o., and maybe it came straight from the Echo
Gomez is not Eligible- he’s Scouse not English.
