The North Stand ? Posh bastard ;-)
We`d had a few sherbets in the Beehive watching the Jamaicans playing dominoes, where we had never seen the "bones" thrown down so hard, so I`m grateful we were a lot of "posh bastards" as I could not have stood up, as we only left the "hive" at 2.40 but managed to get in for K/O. Honest story that Andy. HIC "!!!

Miss the Beehive fantastic bitter for half nothing within staggering of Maine Rd.

A long way? There is no where on this earth that is far enough away from that shithole. And yes, before you ask, I have lived there.
Many years ago (true story) way back in the 1990`s I collected Beer Mats and one of the Organisers held a Meeting on Stalybridge" Station in the beer room which was one of the first to sell "Real Ale".
If anyone knows the size (or as it was in those days) try having a Meeting with 50+ people in there.
Before we went back into Manchester 12 of us went into a Curry House next to the station which I am almost certain had the one and only name of "Y".
Can someone please confirm this, but have to say that the beer on Stalybridge Station was wonderful and upon returning back into Manchester we had a couple of pints in a Lees put right inside the centre of town.

Bloody hell SQ69 we loved it and for us it was such much better than the bloody big pub (pissing me off now the name) but it was opposite the best chippy around Maine Road and on the main road going into town !!! This bloody big pub was Whitbread one and the bouncers would only let you in if you threw a couple of bob into the charity bucket !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Lees must have put a downer on things.

There was a pub called The Q Inn so at one point the town had the pub with the longest and shortest names in UK. Not sure about curry place though. The buffet bar is pretty decent.
