From Gary neville.

"I look at Manchester City, there are a unique team, we've never seen anything like them in this country. The way in which they play football and dominate the game. They weren't the best at Arsenal, but they won. Over the last four weeks, City have been outstanding.

"There has been a bit of negativity in the press conferences around player welfare, covid, fitness, too many games from the other two clubs [Chelsea and Liverpool] and that does get into players' minds. I'm not quite sure where they have come from, but it has coincided with some dropped points and performances which weren't at their best.

Chelsea and Liverpool delivered a great game but, over the last month, they have suffered from a feeling of not quite being ready. I get the fact it's unique times, but these are exceptional teams and managers. Manchester City have had players missing, many players missing over the last two to three years and have had to cope with it.

"City have a strong squad, a great manager, a unique way of playing that demoralises teams. It will be very difficult to make the 10 points because they very rarely make mistakes, you've got to be neck and neck with them. It's a big ask for Chelsea and Liverpool to catch them."

Carragher not as generous, he sort of implies City have made it impossible for others to win, whilst Liverpool are still the exciting alternative. Fair from Neville though.

Dont think they premier league will be worried, the tv money keeps going up and up. If it’s so much of a one team league Liverpool have managed to win during our dominance when they didn’t manage to to it when the rags were the unchallenged top dog. They should all try harder and stop crying.
Yes there's a distinct lack of testosterone about these people , no fighting talk about doing their best and having a go.
Peps never given up when there is a significant lead and on several occasions we've just got on with it and caught the bastards match by match.

The premier league currently has two recent champions league winners from the last few years in Liverpool and Chelsea. It also has Spurs as a recent finalist in 2019, add to that United who have consistently been in the top 3 clubs in the world for revenue for over the last 25 years and whether we like it or not one of the most valuable sports franchises in the world. It’s hardly the Scottish premier league.

Why is it our fault that these teams can’t get their house in order when it comes to putting a decent football team on the pitch?

The major point about the Pogba transfer is that it looks like he will be allowed to leave for free in the summer. 89 million outlay plus wages with little return and probably no sell on!
He's about to run his contract down for a SECOND TIME at the same club.
The same club that paid out £89 million plus agents fees, wages etc. for someone who had already walked out on them once before.
Imagine the outcries of "ruining football" if that was us.
Once again Rags get a free pass in the media.

Just about to say the same.

Why does no one question other teams scouting systems?

Why weren’t they looking at Gundogan and Zinchenko? Players costing nothing in todays market?

Why weren’t they looking at Sane and Torres? Both available on the open market and competitively priced who have improved and we sold to generate profits.

It’s all about having the right strategy. Money helps but it’s not the only factor.
It goes right back. Kompany and Zaba, Yaya, David and Sergio, the players you mentioned, Jesus,Ederson, Cancelo. Even the players we spent bigger fees on, such as Kyle, John, Raheem, Rodri, Mahrez have proved fantastic value for money. All good characters and not boat rockers too. The only 2 that haven’t are Grealish (but first season so loads of time to improve) and Mendy.

When winning becomes boring

Manchester City moving 11 points head after their win (10 after the Chelsea v Liverpool draw) was bad for the Premier League and bad for everyone who isn’t a City fan. To have the season sewn up in the first days of the new year is, to say the least, disappointing. Football is about competition.

When it is a cakewalk for any team, it makes it all feel a bit pointless. When it is the same team that has won in three out of the last four seasons, even more so. As fantastic as their football often objectively is, it leaves people cold. It has the soulless ice of technical drawing and lacks the warmth created in struggle. The City sportswashing project has been 100% successful, their wealth so entrenched now, and so unquestioned, that I feel we should ignore them as much as possible and try to pretend they don’t exist. Everything will be far more enjoyable that way.
Hehehhehehe

It's actually easier to blame someone else.

I don't think the majority of Blues go along with this "the league is done and dusted" routine the media are peddling.Whilst it's a great position to be in , and the the football we play is usually a thing of beauty ,not many of us will be celebrating until it's a mathematical certainty, as with Peps mindset. I think many are setting us in the desperate hope of a fall,or even a " slippy" moment.

How about ignoring Johnny Nicholson.
Far more enjoyable!

Didn’t know any of that about Sutton. He should be proud of himself.

What I did know is that he’s a proper odd ball who has got himself a great job considering he has no personality and is nearly always wrong on his football opinions.
To be fair to Sutton, he's well qualified to give an opinion, his short spell managing Lincoln City gives him every right to talk about World Class Managers and World Class players.
