I am being a massive shit house with this but I can’t shake this feeling that a tidal wave of public opinion will eventually push for legislation to be enacted that will see the club taken from Sheikh Mansour, or him forced to sell.

Logically I see no legal reason how this could happen but I can’t shake the feeling. Ever since Abramovich/Neville etc.
UK and UAE are in a strategic relationship, covering investment, defence, intelligence and more. Do not panic!

There are lot of people trying to convince the world that we are corrupt etc...I don't give a crap about that. But our owner has now managed to damage us so much more by embracing that mass murdering bastard in front of the world. Why didn't he just kill us off completely by embracing Assad's best mate Putin as well. The timing of this obscene act is so utterly mind numbingly dumb. I have been supporting City for over 50 years and our club has been totally transformed over the last decade. I never thought I would say this but I hope he just sells up and leaves. His embrace of that evil murderer who used chemical weapons on his own people is just too sickening.
You’re very naive. Isolating Assad has done nothing to end the war. The only solution is diplomatic, and talks need to happen. Zelensky wants to talk to Putin, do you think he’s suddenly his best mate?

In the real world you have to deal with the worst people. I think Sheikh Mansour would consider attempts to end a war a little more important that what a load of no-mark journalists think about his football club.

It isn't the UN's guidance, it's the UN's envoys guidance, that's not the same thing. If you read the link it clearly states a wide variety of opinions from America, France, Turkey, UAE and Syria.

There isn't any equivalency right now but things can change very quickly. This last month should have thought us that, yesterday's friend is tomorrow enemy. I'm not massively upto speed on Middle Eastern politics but from my layman's reading of events the countries in that region seem to be heading away from the traditional set up, where they get big brother (America) to give you a slap. They appear to be building their own independant block of power without the involvement of the US or UK.
And in that UN session the UAE rep said a solution to the Syrian civil war should be Arab led with no imposition from outsiders. We should let them try and back off from criticising them.

Haven't you ever had to deal with someone at work you would rather not deal with?
The world is complex and unpleasant place, often people with money and power are complex and unpleasant people.
It's not Manchester City that are the problem, it's the world we live in. If you want to change that, more power to your elbow, but may I humbly suggest a football club isn't the place to start.

I think our owner is shit hot. Every fucking person I've ever met wants similar owners. The fucking media know our owner is numero uno. Its a pity they follow money grabbing Yankees. Fuck em. Enjoy their pain.
Mrs KS agrees with your first sentence.

Something I've noted also, the headlines of 'Government critical of owner Sheikh Mansour's meeting with Syrian president' from the Telegraph & BBC are totally false.

The quotes contained in each quote the government as follows:

"It is the UK's firm belief that - in the absence of a change in behaviour by the Syrian regime - strengthening ties undermines the prospect of a lasting and inclusive peace in Syria."

No where in there does it mention the UAE, Sheikh Mansour or Manchester City, in fact it doesn't even criticise the meeting. All very carefully worded, I wonder why?

Media shite hawks.
Sorry I disagree, I haven't read it and only seen the photo but that's enough for me. I still haven't forgiven the club for selling Rodney Marsh so this photograph is enough for me to switch to Newcastle.

There's your problem. You can't take anything this network of "think tanks" say at face value. Someone has told them to say it.

Yep. Reading what someone says is only half the battle, the other half is finding out who is saying it and why?. You can almost accept that if you are reading fringe media, but it's absolutely hopeless when you have to do that even with the BBC and the rest of mainstream media these days.

The problem with Israel is that it is not really a democracy. The key element of The rule of law is missing. I won't go into detail but it affects the rights of Palestinians with regards to property, voting, travel etc etc.
The expansion of settlements on the West bank are not the actions of a democracy nor is the treatment of the Bedouin in the Negev desert.
I am a supporter of Israel's right to live in security, but, boy, do they make it hard sometimes.
And a democracy cannot run an apartheid regime.
And before the pile on, I totally agree with your last paragraph.

I agree Israel make it hard for their friends. I'm not Jewish but have been a staunch supporter since I read Exodus over fifty years ago. Israel are like City support them even when they f**k up.

Hey, get back in the pen. Just think, the Good Sheikh is gonna get us another 250-goal striker, , and the first fifty are coming in his first season!

And let no one forget that Assad is a qualified dentist. The Good Sheikh was going for a dental hygiene check. It's true, 'cos I saw it on Russia Today!

Actually the transliteration of Arabic names into our language is a matter of taste, fashion and scholarship so this spelling of Mansour (double o) is fine. See the spellings of Gadaffi over the years: K'adaffi, Khaddaffi, Q'adaffi, Quadaffi etc etc.
It could get interesting if Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Sports Council, agrees a deal to set up a cricket team under the rag name then.

This would be good for us, especially if we launch our own team for the tournament.

OK, I'm back in.

Mind you, I was enjoying my Chè Guevara moment :-)

Why get bogged down in details when you’ve seen the pictures ? It’s the right clearly the best way to form an opinion.

I read somewhere that the rags had decided not to launch a cricket team.

Exactly mate, sometimes you have to dance with the devil.
