Gratrix came much later and signed five years after Savage left.

Poyser signed him from Blackpool when he was way past his best. I recall him being rubbish although his record at Blackpool was decent.

In fairness, his mental contortions are consistent on the first point at least.

He had no problem downgrading the importance of a domestic cup with over 60 years of tradition and doing the footballing equivalent of Supermarket Sweep when his Liverpool played in the World Club Cup Qatar.

(Not a word of criticism from the papers about it ether).
