They have, even if they haven’t received all of it. They took out a loan against the final payment from Barcelona, so if it hasn’t been paid, neither has that loan.

I'm not sure if this is right or not but I heard at the time the hack was revealed that City had been tracking Coutinho but on the strength of the scouting database info Liverpool stole they jumped in and bought him for peanuts. And of course sold him for so much money that it covered them for every player purchase for years.

Has anyone else heard this?

Don't know about Coutinho but I think it accelerated our interest in Fernandinho because we heard they were sniffing around (presumably prompted by the scouting reports they stole).

Not a loan as such, they basically sold the debt to a finance house for about 10-15% of the gross in exchange for the cash up front
