But Sam doesn’t mind the jaunt to Doha courtesy of the readers who subscribe to the Telegraph.

I’m sure Sam is back in London before the World Cup officially starts on Sunday.

Looks like Migs is giving the World Cup a swerve. Nothing on his Twitter page to indicate he is there yet.
Presumably he feels the same way about the World Cups in countries with much worse human rights records than Qatar like Mexico, South Africa, Brazil, Argentina and Putin's Russia. Or does he just target Arab countries? The Telegraph is a paper which is not exactly renowned for its racial tolerance.

Let’s see what hey have to say about the next tournament……

You've only got access to 4 channels? I didn't even know that was possible nowadays. When I was born there was only the 2 channels available, the BBC & ITV, ahh they were the days.
When I was born there was only one. Oh, and we didn’t have a tv, so 50 channels would have been a waste!

Am I missing something here? Aren't the BBC quoting Jurgen Klopp? If so, why should they be prevented from doing so? Are they obliged to include a correction if the quotation is inaccurate?

Or is the complaint that the BBC is allowing the incorrect statement from Klopp to go unchallenged, and therefore it could be taken by some people to be fact?
At first, bbc repeated the nonsense as a fact. Now they have changed it by putting it in quotes and attributing it to Klopp. Ok, but bbc has a requirement to be fair and balanced which it is not if it doesn’t say something about Liverpools income and ffp when the quote is clearly inaccurate. It has come to something when the treatment of this story is fairer in the Mail (thanks Martin) than on the beeb.

Agreed but I’m sure if you ask people how they viewed the article, the majority would say that City are cheating. I believe that’s the intention but it’s not defamation, just a good old fashioned hatchet job.
After being educated on bluemoon I’ve recently started reading Noam Chomsky books, I know only 50 years late to the party.
It could be considered defamatory if it implied that our accounts were false. However, Klopp put a saver in his statement that our spending was “ legal”. I assume their legal dept insisted on that, which tells you that it was part of a planned move to soften up fans ahead of the for sale statement.

Be careful. A dyed in the wool Marxist, Chomsky supports Russia in the war v Ukraine.

I get the impression he calls out behaviours of those considered the good guys whilst not condoning the bad guys.

I suppose it can be shut down as whataboutery which is as shit as sportswashing.
