If Nunez carries on like he is doing when he is well into his second season he'll have a lot more than half of the dipper fanbase on his case. That is for sure. I'm not convinced that half of our fanbase are on Jack's case either - nowhere near it. We see what he does every week, the second half against Leeds being a point in case. However, when you pay record transfer fees for players they are highly scrutinised. No way around that. I just think for what we paid for Jack a lot of fans have been disappointed by the lack of potential return on the investment and currently that's difficult to argue against. I still have a sneaky feeling he will come good. He will never be a prolific goal scorer. He never has been. But a 12-14 goals a season with the chances he gets in our team is not unrealistic. I don't expect the media to ever give Jack or us a fair crack of the whip, that's not happening. If they want to blow smoke up Nunez's arse then so what? Most football fans can recognise what they see and will come to their own conclusions. For me, so far Jack is a 6/10. Not a flop by any metric or measure but not a raging success either. He was never worth £100m, I think everybody recognised that but the club decided to take the plunge anyway. I didn’t think it was necessarily the right thing to do at the time, however the decision was made and they did it. Both City and Jack are being ridiculed for the fee, which isn’t his fault and he has by no means been disastrous as is being suggested by some, City supporters need to get off his back.
However whilst we’re being ridiculed for his signing, Liverpool’s shills in the press are desperately trying to convince everybody that Nunez is a good signing despite his finishing ability currently being terrible. He may well go on to be a terrific player but the evidence at the moment suggests not.
The difference between the two is that Jack has got half of City’s fanbase on his case whereas Nunez has got the majority of Liverpool’s on his side.
