Don't listen to any rags who tell you they took to European competition like ducks to water either. This is their record in Europe from them first winning the Premier League up until they finally won the Champions League in 99. They got knocked out of Europe by the likes of Torpedo Moscow, Rotor Volgograd, Galatasaray and Monaco...

Was that the massive 20,000 brave souls who went to watch torpedo moscow at the theatre of dreams?

Media trying to whip up a storm about how Haaland should be banned from the FA Cup Final for using the f-word because Rooney got banned in 2011 for swearing at the camera.

Lol didnt Rooney swear into the camera about England fans ?
Haaland swore in Grealish ear and the camera happen to pick it up.
Not even similar lol

The false narrative of how Aberdeen were a crap team from 1980s needs to die.

Aberdeen were a very good team already before SAF took over. They were on same level as Rangers & Celtics, but they needed someone to push them over the hill.

They finished 2 points off a title the season before SAF took over. It's still an incredible accomplishment to win European Cup Winners' Cup final, but people pretend like it's comparable to winning trophies with current Aberdeen, which isn't the case.

Another bit of history that’s been totally forgotten about by most was Scotland’s abysmal World Cup campaign in ‘86, with what many thought was their best squad of players ever.

Not even taking Hansen and Dalglish was just bizarre. Although there was question marks of Dalglish’s fitness I seem to remember. But omitting Hansen from the squad completely, never mind just the first choice team, was strange to say the least.

Think your getting your Rooney swearing incidents mixed up. The one when England were eliminated from the World Cup in South Africa was about the fans. The other one was celebrating a last minute winner for United.

I think you're thinking of 1978 in Argentina. That's where they were expected to do well.

When anyone is comparing Pep to past managers and usually Ferguson they trot out how he won a European trophy with Aberdeen (Cup winners Cup and followed up with a Super cup win), how fucking great he was to do that etc.

However, when the narrative is City Bashing, no history, no success pre 2011 etc etc our Cup Winners cup win is completely ignored!

Didn't get the opportunity to win a "Super cup" as the thing was created until '73.

Never mention how it took Ferguson 4 years to win something with the Rags either do they!
4 years to win something whilst REGULARLY smashing the transfer record.

Spent half the value of the entire club in transfers the year before they won that first trophy.
Micheal knighton’s 1st proposed takeover was valued at £20m. The next year they net spent almost that figure on transfers iirc.
So almost 100% of what they were worth entirely, in 1 year…. And then there’s City ‘financial doping’ and ‘ruining football’ by net spending less than 10+ other PL clubs in the past 5 years…despite being the 5/6th most valued football club in the world.
