According to BBC (United) Sport, Jim Ratcliffe is a local boy from Failsworth, done good. A self-made millionaire. And a United fan. No mention of him not paying tax in the UK. And living in the Monaco tax Haven.
No mention of him owning FC Lausanne who finished bottom of the Swiss first division last year and we're relegated

Can a new owner simply wipe out debts? The likes of us, Chelsea, Leeds United and Newcastle United were allowed to go down when we were shit. United and LiVARpool will never “go away” simply because no matter how bad they are, they’ll be helped to stay in the Premier League. I’m sure the FFP inspectors are very thorough when investigating them and they don’t just book a few days on the golf course.

I’d presume someone can come along and buy up most of the club but depends on how the loan structure is! City are paying of a loan I believe because how it was set up by previous owners!

If he's into tax avoidance he should get on well with Sir Fishfingers. They can compare notes on how to avoid paying tax whilst lecturing the government on how taxes should be spent.

Can an owner (new or not) just pay off a club’s debt? Surly it would contravene FFP or the likes of Chelsea Newcastle etc (& us) would just take out a huge loan for any players we wanted & the debt could be paid off??

FFP was never a "rulebook" to create a level(laughs) playing field for all clubs, and was never a safety net to help stabilise clubs and stop em going under either, as they would like us to believe.

It has been used as a tool to help keep the status quo of chosen cash cows at the top, and also to tarnish the reputation of any club, attempting through shrewd investment and superior management to climb to a level to challenge that chosen elite.

I wouldnt mind betting that its Man City whos name has been most synonymous with the phrase "FFP" in the minds of most people interested enough to read about football, and all in a bad way.

Yet look at the success story for our owners, a great team that plays great football, success with winning trophies, records broken, some of the worlds best players, a fantastic academy churning out new stars, a redevelopment strategy improving the local area, a return on investment with sales to the chinese and silverlake, and a product worth literally billions more than the money put in.

These are not the actions of a desperate sportswashing regime as some would have you believe, but of possibly the best owners in football. In business terms there is nothing not to like about the way they have transformed our club.

Yet all we hear is ffp blah, ruining football blah, sportswashing blah, no history blah, human rights blah, blah fcking blah etc. Just pathetic protestations by shit journalists pandering to the threatened egos of a spoilt plastic fanbase of the clubs who feel "entitled" to be at the top and dont like the look of mid table mediocrity.

The biggest complaint we might have about our owners is that they seem too meek in the face of all this bullshit, but when you look at how wrong they(the media etc) all are about us and how easily the sheep are led then fckem.

If your enemies are making a mistake................let them carry on.

As time goes on terms like ffp will become a distant memory, a failure, while Man City will collect new admirers through football played in an attractive and appealing way as that is ultimately what trumps everything else.

I'd imagine he'll be trying to restructure the debt (or get the glazers to pay it) before bidding

But can the Glazers pay it - surely Directors cannot just pump money into their club - or, as I mentioned before, all the rich owners would do it so that their club can spend an unlimited amount on the best players?
