A picture paints a thousand words. We’ve gone from this shithole where nobody was prepared to invest

We need to stop this investment right fucking now before the whole of East Manchester becomes a great place to live
That first picture is an eye opener, any idea where that was?

Doesn’t help when a so called City fan and a so called City reporter are happy to share this smear campaign
Of course the US-owned Athletic will be happy to continue pushing the narrative that white American ownership is good but brown Arab ownership is bad

The media have been claiming for years that Sheikh Mansour was just a sugar daddy bankrolling our club for sportswashing purposes. Now they have woken up to the reality that he is actually making very healthy profits from his investments in MCFC and East Manchester (just like other football club owners). So the story has got to change. Now we are expected to believe claims by people based in London that all this investment is bad for the city of Manchester.
Apparently the council should have struck a harder deal with Sheikh Mansour. But all of us know what Ancoats, Beswick, and most of Northern Quarter looked like in 2008...just the same as they had looked since the 1960s...derelict and riddled with decay. To suggest developers were queueing up to invest in these areas is just a pure lie. And there was never any hope of getting support from central government because most of the MPs (of all parties) were happy getting rich on the back of booming London including many of the Northern-based ones who had second homes.

So the Athletics correspondents for all the major clubs act as cheer leaders and wouldn’t dare criticise the clubs in question. However City’s correspondent wastes no time yet again publicising negative stories about the club.

It’s a free world and people can do what they like but it’s beyond me why any City fan would pay anything to the Athletic when it clearly wants to harm us whilst sucking up to its beloved teams in Red. Why help pay Lees and Crafton wages?

Deserves more than a like.

Nail on head...

Those in receipt of Pension Credit on a low income are still eligible. Whilst the salaries of those you mention may well be obscene, they are in line with what other broadcasters pay their stars.
It is no part of the remit of the BBC to match salaries in the private sector. The argument that the most talented would desert the BBC is specious: (a) So what? (b) There are thousands of talented people who would be delighted to get a job at the BBC at far lower salaries than are paid now.
