Gerrard was a brilliant player and probably the one most similar to De Bruyne in terms of style of play. A lot of his big goals in the CL were in the groups. Liverpool were often trailing before he decided to do something. If you want an example of De Bruyne stepping up then do a bit of fucking research. It's a ridiculous thing to say when he's literally just rifled one in to equalise at the Bernabeu and as I said, scored the winning penalty there two seasons ago as well as having another 9 CL knockout goals!

It would also be worth noting he was assaulted in the CL final so denied the chance to do the same as Gerrard that time around.

Not winning the UCL is the last stick they've got to beat us with.
If we win it, they'll only find something else so I just ignore the clueless wankers who spout off every time we have a big game or are on the cusp of winning things.

Look at the list of things they used to come out with, one by one they've disappeared.

Ye, everyone wants City to lose, everyone up north wanted Arsenal to win the pl aswel. It makes it even more embarrassing when we win a competition and they revert back to no one cares about city....

The classic is Rhian Brewster who 'won' a Champions League winner's medal with the dippers despite never playing a minute of Champions League football.

So-called journalism has become no more than a clickbait competiton. There are very few people who actually investigate things and reveal news stories. There is a whole army of hacks working for the London-media who don't actually produce any new content. They base their output on expressing opinions on podcasts and social media and the more outrageous snide comments they make the more clicks they generate. A lot of them are privately-educated posh boys who latched onto football in recent years to give themselves street cred. They are more interest in attention-seeking and promoting themselves than the sport itself. The football press has essentially collapsed, and apart from a very few people, it doesn't pay well. It really is a race to the bottom.

there is a name for it, it's called Fanzine journalism, they know that the Red Shirt teams have the biggest none attending fan bases, so they just pander to them the more clicks the better, posting a negative City story is guaranteed to get lots of clicks because that's what their audiences want, never mind if it's not true or greatly exaggerated it's all gist to the mill
