what a fucking bitter twat
Seen a lot of people giving out about this. Maybe I’m missing something but I don’t see a problem with it? He’s congratulating City and praising Pep. The very point he makes about us not being as dominant when Pep leaves surely even the most ardent of City fans agree with?

Can somebody tell the media City have actually won the league.

All I’m hearing is how Arsenal threw it away. Utter bollox City destroyed them.

Show some respect to the sensational team that is City.

Let’s get the treble & plaster every bill board in the U.K. with we are the champions!

I agree that the statement itself is fine and very likely factual,it's the timing that's the issue.....it just wasn't necessary to add that comment on the back of 'congratulating' us.

The only real issue I have with that article, is that he continues the myth that Liverpool needed to overperform in order to match us. Especially because he mentions United now having similar revenues to City, a couple of paragraphs earlier, when Liverpool are also in the same ballpark.

Both clubs have had similar revenue, and transfer spending and wages over the time the two clubs have been winning things have been close. You could easily argue that both teams have overperformed, given the points totals they've posted, but this suggestion that someone Liverpool were covering up our advantage is ridiculous.

Anyone who knows football, must realise that Pep is the reason why City are ahead of United, Liverpool and Chelsea in recent seasons. The money puts all those clubs above everyone else, but good management and good recruitment, and an absolute obsession with winning every single minute or every single game, is what separates City from the other big clubs right now.

Guardiola on the pitch and the management and board off it, I would say. There really isn't a great difference in revenues between the top clubs, and all are resticted on what they can spend, so the wealth of owners doesnt really come into it, other than on, say, infrastructure.

The differences are the genius of Guardiola, and the relative performance of the management and board compared to the disasters at the other clubs. They should be looking in the mirror rather than shouting in the wind.

It really isn't difficult to work out.

Why is there a view that prior to the past decade or so, you didn’t have to spend money to win titles? The same old city have bought another league etc etc. It’s conveniently forgotten how much the rags used to throw around in the 90s. Broke the transfer record with Keane, then Cole, then came very close to landing Shearer. Then with Rio, Veron, RVN etc etc.
Brian Clough is thought of as one of the greatest coaches of all time however he spent a shit ton of money, relative to the time, when he was at forest. You don’t win stuff unless you have financial backing. Leicester aside, you may get an anomaly cup final (Wigan arseholes!!!) but for every period of sustained success in my lifetime, has involved huge investments into the playing staff

A strange history is made City become the sixth team to do three in a row They are also the first English champions to face charges from the same competition, that could yet see them expelled

Five titles in six years: Are Manchester City destroying the Premier League?
Pep Guardiola has been given limitless funds to create the perfect team in laboratory conditions.
Stop giving him attention !

We all see things from a different perspective I spose. I feel the perfect time to say we won’t be as dominant once Pep leaves is the time we’re most dominant having won the title. It would be a stupid comment to say if we were still 8 points or had we lost the league. Anyways, I couldn’t give a shite what any of them saying really and not sticking up for Lineker by any means but compared to a lot of drivel I read this morning from pundits Linekers wasn’t bad even if some perceive it as a backhanded compliment which I don’t.

Reasonable piece by Rob Draper in today's Sunday edition of the daily racist. Sprinkled with the usual tropes, but trying to distinguish between on-field success and off-field bullshit.

He doesn’t seem to grasp the fact that when the other 5 times this was achieved, FFP wasn’t a thing, so the ‘ffp rules’ wouldn’t have been able to be broken.Or maybe he does grasp it but it doesn’t suit his narrative. The Twat.
