In play they put up the badges of the teams. Ours and Copenhagen's were the first two, which makes it all the more annoying it was missed .BT put the captions up on screen of all teams playing in Europe this week and ours was missing.
The guardian hate us because our owners are the wrong type of Muslim. That's because a large chunk of the Guardian staff (and freelances) are London-based posh boys who like LFC or MUFC. I don't think Chelsea get much positive coverage anywhere though they are not slagged off as much as us.
The Guardian hates us because, like it or not, our owners have very close ties to a government, which, whilst not in the same class as the Saudis, has a dubious record when it comes to a number of issues that Westerners hold dear - worker’s rights, homosexuality, etc. It’s not stopped any of us (myself included) going to watch our team like we’ve always done, but it’s at least understandable, even allowing for the double standards practiced by several of the journalists concerned. The Mail I have nothing but utter contempt for.
He spent his best years and scored most of his goals at another club. Getting sent off in the derby, the ball boy incident and wrecking his car near the airport will be among the favourite memories most blues have of him.Ronaldo record being pushed by the media because its Utd fans security blanket.
When we played Madrid in group stage. Three quarters of the ground in unison. "You'll always be a wanker!"He spent his best years and scored most of his goals at another club. Call It a 'bounty' just toaggravate even more. Makes it personal and more humiliating if it happens.£1m a goal vs the dippers.
The Guardian hates us for our wealth and the Mail hates us for our owner’s ethnicity.
They all hate us because we upset the most popular clubs, therefore the largest elements of their readership. If City do something it's wrong, if the rags or dippers do something similar it's brilliant. The Liverpool Echo hates us because we make their readership cry.
Take a look at the clip on YouTube where another ball boy became an instant hero in the Madrid derby. The papers in this country lapped it up, whereas they just reported that City got a warning about the behaviour of our ball boys off the FA.When we played Madrid in group stage. Yeah. But strangely he'd be shit playing for a pub team. Worst chasing back stats in top flight clubs last year was it?TBF GT 700 goals is an incredible achievement and something to celebrate. One of the worlds best players ever.
strangely he'd be shit playing for a pub team.
I thought he was already playing for a pub team.Yeah. But strangely he'd be shit playing for a pub team. Worst chasing back stats in top flight clubs last year was it?
He's a very good player, ingenious sometimes, athletic, proper journeyman of football . but he only ever played for the best teams who win things, and then he just goal hangs.
But even worse than that, and I know it doesn't matter to a lot of people, but his personality is totally shite. He's not a team player which is a basic nowadays.
If he would have stayed in the Premier league he wouldn't of got them numbers . La liga teams just give when they played the top teams. A couple of exceptions of course.Yeah. But strangely he'd be shit playing for a pub team. Worst chasing back stats in top flight clubs last year was it?

Great post. I think a lot of the animosity towards City is quite nuanced. The irony is that the UAE has been a prime mover in improving relations with Israel and is a very close ally (along with Saudi) of Western countries in the struggle against extremist Islamic terrorist groups. In the UK everything is seen through the filter of the Israel/Palestine conflict when the reality is much more complex. The guardian hate us because our owners are the wrong type of Muslim.
They dont ‘know their place’. They are proud of their nation, their religion, and their heritage.
And they dont appear to hate Israel.
And if it is (as they will claim) in part because of the country’s stance on making homosexuality illegal, why aren’t they campaigning to have Englands win in 1966 overturned and the World Cup given back?
In short, they need to be driven out of the white mans game In the eyes of the guardian.
"Worst chasing back stats in top flight clubs last year", he is 37 you know.Yeah. But strangely he'd be shit playing for a pub team. Worst chasing back stats in top flight clubs last year was it?

Hasn’t Pep just literally said there is no release clause to Madrid or anyone?
The Mail promulgating lies? Who'd have thought?
