I understand there’s a difference but listen to one and you’ll hear that about 30% of the time he’s talking about stuff incidental to the action

A lot of it admittedly is just filling dead air. You don't really notice it on a radio broadcast. But when it's applied to the TV you're sat there thinking "just shut the fuck up for 2 minutes"

I started listening to the Guardian Football podcast this week, as everyone's always banging on about it. Think I lasted around three episodes. God they fucking hate us, don't they?
One of the pre season reviews asked their panellists for their predicted prem winners.

Although most said city which isn’t good or bad, one said liverpool and rather than coming up with a valid reason for thinking so, which could have been reasonable, he said it was because he doesnt like city and so doesnt want to accept us as favourites.

No challenge that it was a stupid, biased, envious reason, just a “fair enough”.

They all hate the club, what it stands for, who its better than. Just seeps from them every week. Lovely to watch city win and them have to talk about it every week

To be fair, he didn't need to be challenged. He'd already shown himself to be be stupid, biased and envious.

Meanwhile, in a summer when City have been outspent by several clubs and broke the league’s all time record for transfer income, Delooney has written his article yet again.
Despite the above facts and a huge net spend, his personal bitterness and obsession meant he just had to shoehorn us into an article about the ‘obscene’ £1.9bn spent by PL clubs this season.
Of course, it comes complete with a dig about Haaland’s fee and the supposed wages and agents fees - both considerably less than what united shelled out when Ronaldo. And the same sort of snide, baseless hinting at off the books payments that only the most deluded redshirt cultists spout on Twitter.
If they hated City before, then the sheer magnificence of the Nordic Meat Shield, and his decision to join the club he supported as a boy has sent them over the edge. It’s City sticking it to the haters and shills but twisting the knife as well. And and it’s absolutely glorious

But what’s this? A new twist?
Yes, Delooney is now blaming City for rising fuel prices and the cost of living crisis!!!

I thought ‘No, he really hasn’t gone there.’
I thought even he wouldn’t be that batshit insane, that he wouldn’t jump that shark
But yes, he really has

Not sure if this has been covered but last night on 5 live, Nigel Reo Coker was a pundit. He was talking, before they did Scum commentary, about West Ham being under scrutiny for FFP and he said - laughingly - they should go and ask 1 or 2 other clubs how to get round it, like, Man City.

No one challenged or took him up on it in any way. If you listen back, it's around 7.30 ish last night.

Makes a change from us not building hospitals I suppose.

The headline in the Daily United.

As you'd expect, loads of Rags and Scousers piling in.

BREAKING NEWS: Chelsea, Man City, West Ham and Leicester ESCAPE Financial Fair Play punishments from UEFA - but are added to their watchlist - over 'exceptional Covid deductions'
