If you want any more evidence of this, look at his reasoning for going to the world cup - it's to report "honestly" on the event and highlight the issues.

The go back to his articles on the 2018 world cup and try to find any mention at all of Putin's regime, it's 2014 invasion of Ukraine and persecution of LGBTQ people. There is none.

Barney Ronay is the same, he also thinks he has a moral duty to go to Qatar. He cashed in and wrote a book on the 2018 world cup, I don't believe there's any criticism of the regime in it.

A common trick amongst these guys is to tweet stuff that their editor would not pass. Not just speculation but barefaced lies. Then, of course, they block dissenters so it looks like people generally agree with their tweets. Dishonest.
