At the time I was irked by it but now I have grown up to see many more players more clubs realise it's the usual post signing player spin they all use and have no grudge about it, as I did at the time

Yes I really wrote it tongue in cheek, remembering his comments from yesteryear.

Although the fact we both remember it, and it irked us both, sort of suggests it was not typical of players leaving to come out with that. Thought he was a great player for is but never thought he had that much affinity to the club which was sort of supprted by those comments at the time. Glad if that was not the case or he has fallen back in love with the club.
